US Govt to review plans to develop oil shale, tar sands

WASHINGTON, April 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. Interior Department said on Wednesday it will “take a fresh look” at plans issued by the George W. Bush presidential administration to develop commercial oil shale and tar sands in three states.

The department said its Bureau of Land Management plans to review the environmental impact of allocating oil shale and tar sands resources on federal government-owned lands in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. (Reporting by Tom Doggett)
