Top US congressional negotiators to meet Monday on border security-aide

WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - The top four Democratic and Republican negotiators in the U.S. Congress on border security funding were scheduled to meet later on Monday in an attempt to reach a deal that would avert another government shutdown by a Friday deadline.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman Nita Lowey, a Democrat, Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby, a Republican, and two other senior lawmakers will attend the meeting, according to a congressional aide. Negotiations broke down over the weekend over funding for immigrant detention beds and physical barriers that would be funded along the U.S.-Mexico border.
