Earl strengthens again to Category 4 hurricane

MIAMI, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Hurricane Earl strengthened again into a powerful Category 4 storm on Wednesday as it headed for the North Carolina coast on the U.S. eastern seaboard, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

A hurricane watch was extended northwards from North Carolina up to Massachusetts, including popular resorts like Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, the Miami-based center said.
