(updates after second training session)
LAUSANNE, Switzerland, June 5 (Reuters) - Netherlands received a Euro 2008 scare when Wesley Sneijder injured his ankle in training on Thursday morning.
The midfielder, however, was eventually given the all-clear and later warmed up with winger Arjen Robben away from the rest of the group for the second session of the day.
Defender Mario Melchiot also worked out on his own at the team hotel.
“All three trained separately because the medical staff were afraid about overworking them (after a tough session in the morning),” KNVB (Dutch football association) press officer Kees Jansma told Reuters.
The Dutch launch their campaign against world champions Italy in Berne on Monday.
France and Romania are the other teams in Group C.
