FACTBOX: Security developments in Afghanistan, April 17

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan reported as of 6:30 a.m. EDT on Friday:

* PAKTIKA - Seven Afghan security officers including four policemen and three guards for NATO supply trucks were killed by a roadside bomb in the Waze Khwa district some 150 km (90) miles southeast of Kabul on Thursday, the provincial police chief said.

* BALKH - Two soldiers from NATO-led troops were wounded when a suicide car bomber attacked their convoy just outside the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, some 300 km (190) miles north of Kabul, provincial police chief spokesman Shir Jan Durrani said.

KANDAHAR - U.S. and Afghan forces killed six armed militants in a Thursday night raid in Maiwand district of Kandahar province, 400 km (250 miles) southwest of Kabul, the U.S. military said.

LOGAR - U.S. and Afghan forces said they detained a suspected bomb-maker in Baraki Barak district of Logar province, just 70 km (45 miles) southwest of Kabul, on Thursday night.

KABUL - An Afghan civilian was wounded near Kabul on Thursday afternoon when U.S. troops fired into his car after he failed to stop, U.S. forces said in a statement.

PAKTIKA - Afghan commandos backed by foreign troops on Thursday detained three suspected militants in Paktika province, 150 km (95 miles) south of Kabul, while searching the compound of a suspected militant commander, U.S. forces said.
