NEW YORK, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Denise Wypiszenski, a former executive with Robert W. Baird and Smith Barney, has launched an executive search firm to serve companies in the financial services, consumer and industrial products sectors.
Wypiszenski, former chief operating officer of Baird’s private wealth management division, has set up Orchid Network LLC with recruiter Gary Silverman, a former managing director at Korn/Ferry International (KFY.N), the new firm said on Tuesday.
“I’ve been successful working with organizations to find the right talent for their needs,” said Wypiszenski in an interview. “It’s something I enjoy doing.”
In her new role, Wypiszenski will focus on placing company executives, including branch managers at wealth management firms.
Wypiszenski left Milwaukee-based Baird in mid-2010 after less than a year on the job. She oversaw a rapid expansion of Baird’s wealth management business, including hiring dozens of advisers and managers and opening new offices [ID:nN25136111].
Previously, Wypiszenski spent 17 years at Smith Barney in a number of management and recruiting roles, leaving shortly after Morgan Stanley (MS.N) acquired control of the Citigroup Inc (C.N) brokerage in June 2009.
After moving to Baird, Wypiszenski hired seven former Smith Barney branch managers to join her new firm.
The recruiting business will be based in Naperville, Illinois.
