Our core expertise lies in handling hydrocarbons, lubricants, chemicals and liquid gases with dedicated facilities to manage road transport, warehousing, fuel farms, turnkey fuel supply operations, into plane fuel services, ship owning and chartering for clean petroleum products.
We have received many global and national awards for operational excellence, safety practices, and corporate social responsibility. Among these are: Dubai Quality Appreciation Award, Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Appreciation Award, Prince Michael International Road Safety Award, RoSPA Management of Occupational Road Risk Trophy and Gold Medal on Occupational Health and Safety, IOSH Campaign of the Year, Shell ‘Professional Haulier’ Status in the Middle East and South Asia, and CSR awards from the Supply Chain and Transport Award, Maritime Standard Award and Arabia CSR Network.
As a major player in Oil and Gas logistics, we are conscious of the potential consequences of incidents involving road tankers transporting flammable products and we remain committed to sharing our experiences and adhering to international best practices to make the roads safer for all users in the UAE and across the Gulf Cooperation Council.
We have partnered with the Dubai Government through the Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Chamber to provide road safety seminars and workshops to commercial heavy duty drivers, fleet supervisors and managers of private companies.
This ongoing public awareness campaign is aligned with the UN Sustainability Development Goal (SDG) No. 3 on ‘Good Health and Well Being’, particularly, Goal 3.6 which aims to reduce the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents by 2020. Our corporate Goal ZERO is also in-line with Dubai Police’s vision for zero road fatalities by 2020.
Additionally, Tristar supports SDG Goal No. 4 Quality Education, with focus on 4.A: ‘Build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, non-violent, inclusive and effective learning environments for all’.
We are actively supporting the education sector in Africa. We have so far turned over new classrooms in two schools in South Sudan since 2009 which have benefitted more than 2,000 primary and secondary students. In March 2018, we donated a Computer Lab to Gabat Primary School in Juba, which became the first primary school in the country to introduce computer classes to children.
In Kenya, we donated two new sanitary facilities for both boys and girls at a primary school in Kajiado County and renovated the school’s assembly area to make it a good place to assemble and play especially during the rainy season.
Our initiatives are guided by one of our corporate values which is to conduct our business in a socially responsible manner, consistent with local regulations as is deemed fit for a good corporate citizen. We also firmly support the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact.
