Dera Sacha Sauda –leading social welfare and spiritual organization based in Sirsa, recently put up a state-level blood donation camp in Chandigarh.

Dera Sacha Sauda –famous social welfare and spiritual organization with its foundation in Sirsa, had recently organized the blood donation camp in Chandigarh. While the main motive of the camp was to encourage blood donation for those in need, many participants in the camp left with pledges of undertaking in eye & body donations at the same time.

During the given blood donation camp, Dera Sacha Sauda was able to set up the record as 3866 followers of the organization made pledges to donate eyes & body as well. A spokesperson from Dera Sacha Sauda, states, “We have come across many individuals making blood donations in such camps. However, it comes as a pleasant surprise to us to observe that people who came here for blood donation, also took pledges to donate eyes & body. It was an amazing sight to observe the followers of our organization to fill up forms of donating eyes & body as well.”

Dera Sacha Sauda has been known for providing millions of units of blood through its blood donation camps to the Indian Army until now. The blood donation camp in Chandigarh was conducted on the World Blood Donor Day. The camp was organized at a community center at sector 49-C in Chandigarh. The camp’s timings was from 9 am to 2 pm with multiple Blood Bank teams taking part from different cities.

In addition to organizing the camp, the organizers at Dera Sacha Sauda had also made arrangements for as many as 3,000 blood donors. However, it comes as a pleasant surprise that over 4,800 donors registered themselves for the camp. As arrangements were not made for fitting so many donors, some of them had to go back home. In the camp, around 3,866 followers of Dera Sacha Sauda were able to donate blood. Moreover, almost all such followers also filled up the forms for eye & body donations as well.

Shobha Insan –Vice Chairperson at Dera Sacha Sauda, explains that under the guidance of holy saint, Dera has been conducting several blood donation camps across various places to help Indian Army for last decade. In the given camps, millions of units of blood are collected for the Indian Army itself. Shobha also explains that Dera Sacha Sauda organization has been accredited with as many as three Guinness World Records in addition to two Asia Book of Records, a Limca Book of Record, and the India Book of Record as well. As far as the road ahead with respect to blood donation by the organization is concerned, Shobha mentioned that such blood donation camps would be organized by the Dera Sacha Sauda organization all across the country. Such camps will help in providing blood to the injured soldiers of the Indian Army. Given their ability to donate blood in such huge numbers, the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda have been given the title “True Blood Pump.”
