TechnipFMC wins 'significant' Equinor subsea contract

March 20 (Reuters) - Equinor ASA ::EQUINOR AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SUBSEA PRODUCTION SYSTEM FOR JOHAN SVERDRUP PHASE 2 - EQUINOR.COM.AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING SUBSEA PRODUCTION SYSTEM FOR PROJECT PHASE 2 TO TECHNIPFMC.TECHNIPFMC DESCRIBES VALUE OF CONTRACT AS "SIGNIFICANT", DEFINED TO BE IN RANGE OF USD 75-250 MILLION.PRODUCTION SYSTEM CONSISTS OF FIVE TEMPLATES AND A TOTAL OF 18 X-MAS TREES WITH ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS.PLANS CALL FOR JOHAN SVERDRUP FIELD TO START UP IN NOVEMBER THIS YEAR.PRODUCTION START OF PHASE 2 IS SCHEDULED FOR Q4 2022.WE HAVE NOW DETERMINED SUBSEA SOLUTION FOR BOTH PHASE 1 AND 2 OF FIELD DEVELOPMENT, AND TECHNIPFMC HAS BEEN GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR BOTH JOBS.CONTRACTS ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF PLAN FOR DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION (PDO) FOR JOHAN SVERDRUP PHASE 2, WHICH WAS SUBMITTED TO AUTHORITIES IN AUGUST 2018.
