UK's OFWAT consults on penalties and payments for 3 water companies​

Oct 31 (Reuters) - UK's Water Services Regulation Authority::‍TO APPLY UNDERPERFORMANCE PENALTY TO SOUTH WEST WATER OF 2.09 MILLION STG FOR UNDERPERFORMANCE ON POLLUTION INCIDENTS OVER LAST TWO YEARS​.CONSULTS ON UNDERPERFORMANCE PENALTIES AND OUTPERFORMANCE PAYMENTS FOR THREE WATER COMPANIES​.‍WILL BEGIN CONSULTING ON PROPOSALS TO ADJUST PRICE CONTROLS FOR 3 OF 18 WATER COMPANIES IN ENGLAND, WALES, TO BE APPLIED FROM APRIL 2018.‍ALL WATER COMPANIES HAVE COMMITTED TO IMPROVE THEIR PERFORMANCE FOR 2015-20 BASED ON CUSTOMER CONSULTATION​.IS PROPOSING THAT FROM 2020, ALL COMPANIES WILL RECEIVE SOME OF THEIR PENALTIES AND PAYMENTS CLOSE TO PERFORMANCE IN QUESTION​.‍SEVERN TRENT WATER'S PROGRESS IN REDUCING SEWER FLOODING, PERFORMANCE IN OTHER AREAS, RESULTS IN PROPOSED NET OUTPERFORMANCE PAYMENT OF £38.4 MILLION​.
