Name Description

Yanhong Li

Mr. Yanhong (Robin) Li is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder of Baidu, Inc. He received a bachelor of science degree in information management from Peking University in 1991, and a master of science degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1994. Robin worked as a Senior Consultant at a subsidiary of Dow Jones and designed the real-time financial information system for the online edition of the Wall Street Journal. Robin received a US patent for a system of hyperlink analysis in 1999, one of the inventions that has helped shape today's search technology. He later joined InfoSeek, one of the early search engines, in Silicon Valley as a Senior Engineer. Since founding the company in January 2000, Robin has led Baidu to be China’s largest search engine, with over 70% market share. Baidu is the largest Chinese search engine globally and the second largest independent search engine in the world. China is among the four countries globally—alongside the United States, Russia and South Korea—to possess its own core search engine technology. Through innovations such as from Box Computing to Baidu’s Open Data and Open App Platform, Robin has substantially advanced the theoretical framework of China’s Internet sciences, propelling Baidu to be the vanguard of China’s Internet industry. In 2005, Baidu became a NASDAQ-listed public company and in 2007 was the first Chinese company to be included in the NASDAQ-100 Index. In 2007, The Financial Times listed Baidu as one of the Top 10 Chinese Global Brands, with Baidu being the youngest company as well as the only Internet company in the top ten.

Qi Lu

Dr. Qi Lu, Ph.D., serves as Group President, Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Operating Officer of the company. He joined the company in January 2017 as group president and chief operating officer and has served as a director and the vice chairman of the board of directors since February 2017. Dr. Lu is in charge of products, technology, sales, marketing and operations and is currently the general manager of our Intelligent Driving Group. Prior to joining us, Dr. Lu most recently served as Microsoft’s global executive vice president and led one of Microsoft’s three business units, having joined Microsoft in 2009 as president of its Online Services Group. Earlier in his career, Dr. Lu joined Yahoo! in 1998, later becoming senior vice president in charge of search and advertising technologies, and subsequently executive vice president in 2007. Dr. Lu holds both bachelor and master degrees in computer science from Fudan University in Shanghai and a PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University. He holds over 40 US patents and has authored many papers in his field.

Herman Yu

Mr. Herman Yu, CPA., serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Herman Yujoins Baidu from Weibo Corp. (NASDAQ: WB), where he has served as chief financial officer since 2015. Prior to Weibo, Mr. Yu worked at SINA Corp. from 2004 to 2015, most recently as chief financial officer from 2007 to 2015. Mr. Yu began his career at Arthur Andersen and has held various finance and accounting management positions at Adobe Systems Inc., Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and VeriFone Systems, Inc. He is a California Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California and an M.A. in Accountancy from the University of Southern California. Mr. Yu serves on the boards of 58.com Inc., ZTO Express Inc., and Tian Ge Interactive Holdings Limited.

Ya-Qin Zhang

Dr. Ya-Qin Zhang is President - New Business of the Company. Prior to joining company, Dr. Zhang was Microsoft Corporation’s corporate vice president and the chairman of Microsoft Asia-Pacific R&D Group for a decade, leading Microsoft’s overall research and development efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining Microsoft in 1999, Dr. Zhang was a director for the Multimedia Technology Laboratory at Sarnoff Corp. Dr. Zhang currently serves on the board of Tarena International, Inc. and ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd., both of which are listed on NASDAQ. Dr. Zhang received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from George Washington University.

Lee Liu

Mr. Lee Liu is Senior Vice President of the Company. He joined Baidu in April 2011 as vice president. He is in charge of Baidu’s human resources functions. Prior to joining Baidu, from 2000 to 2011, Mr. Liu served in a variety of senior roles at Motorola, where he last served as vice president of human resources. Mr. Liu graduated from Tianjin University with a degree in microelectronics, and received an Executive MBA degree from Peking University.

Hailong Xiang

Mr. Hailong Xiang is Senior Vice President of Baidu, Inc., since October 2014, He is in charge of business products and sales force management. Mr. Xiang joined us in February 2005 following our acquisition of Shanghai Qilang, an internet services firm established by Mr. Xiang in 2000. Mr. Xiang received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from East China Normal University.

Brent Callinicos

Mr. Brent Callinicos is an Independent Director of Baidu, Inc., since October 2015. He has served as company independent director since October 2015, and as the Chairman of company Audit Committee since April 2016. Mr. Callinicos most recently served as the chief financial officer of Uber Technologies Inc. from September 2013 to March 2015, where he remains an advisor. Prior to joining Uber, he worked at Google from January 2007 to September 2013, where he last served as vice president, treasurer and chief accountant. He also led green energy investments and financial services at Google Inc. From 1992 to 2007, he served in a variety of increasingly senior roles at Microsoft Corporation, where he last served as corporate vice-president and divisional chief financial officer of the Platforms and Services Division, and oversaw Microsoft’s Worldwide Licensing and Pricing and Microsoft Financing. He currently serves on the board of directors of PVH Corp., a NYSE-listed company, and two private companies. Mr. Callinicos is a certified public accountant. Mr. Callinicos received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. degree from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at Chapel Hill.

Jian Ding

Mr. Jian Ding is Independent Director of Baidu, Inc. He has served as company independent director since company initial public offering in August 2005. Mr. Ding is currently a general partner and managing director of GSR Ventures, an early stage venture fund focusing on technology, media and telecom investment in China. Prior to that, Mr. Ding served as a co-chairman of the board of directors of AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc., a former NASDAQ-listed company, from July 2010 to January 2014. Prior to that, Mr. Ding served as the chairman of the board of AsiaInfo from April 2003 to July 2010, and a member of the board since AsiaInfo’s inception in 1993. Mr. Ding served as the chief executive officer and president of AsiaInfo from 1999 to 2003 and as senior vice president and chief technology officer of AsiaInfo from 1993 to 1999. Mr. Ding also serves as an independent director of Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, a ChiNext Shenzhen-listed company. Mr. Ding received a master’s degree in information science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Peking University in China.

Yuanqing Yang

Mr. Yuanqing Yang is an Independent Director of Baidu, Inc., since October 2015. Mr. Yang is currently the chairman and chief executive officer of Lenovo Group Limited, a Hong Kong-listed company. Mr. Yang joined Lenovo in 1989 and has led the company from the initial China-based PC maker to a diversified global technology leader. In 2011, FinanceAsia named Mr. Yang the Best CEO in China. In 2004 and 2012, Mr. Yang was named one of the “CCTV China Annual Economic Figures.” He was listed on Barron’s list of Best CEOs in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Mr. Yang won an Edison Achievement Award for Innovation. Mr. Yang currently serves as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Mr. Yang holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Science and Technology of China.
