Biographies

Name Description

Alaa Alddin Sabea

Mr. Alaa Alddin Hassouna Sabea is Chairman of the Board, Head of Investment Bank for Beltone Financial Holding SAE since March 11, 2012. Mr. Sabea is also serving on the Board of several institutions, including the Central Bank of Egypt, Orascom Construction Industries, Orascom Development Holdings, Ghabbour Auto and several international investment funds. Mr. Sabea holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School, 1986, as well as a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, 1983. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Cairo University in 1981.

Omar Adel

Mr. Omar Adel is Managing Director - Misr Beltone Asset Management and Head of Fixed Income & Money Market Desks within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Mr. Adel headed the dealing room of Arab African International Bank (AAIB). Throughout the 15 years spent at AAIB, Mr. Adel was in charge of managing the local currency money market and primary dealer desks. Prior to that, he worked as FX & Money Market Trader. Mr. Adel holds a Bachelor degree in Finance and Banking from Kuwait University.

Roddy Al Helw

Mr. Roddy Al Helw is Managing Director for Marketing and Financial Analyst - Beltone Securities Brokerage Division of Beltone Financial Holding SAE since 2003. From 1996 he served as General Manager of Trust Group for Securities and from 2002 was a member of the Trust Group for Securities' Board of Directors. Mr. Al Helw received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1995 from the American University in Cairo and was awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification in 2000. He completed the Egyptian Capital Market Association (ECMA) General Course in 1998, ECMA's Brokerage Course in 2001 and the Egyptian Society for Technical Analysis, Technical Analysis Course in 2000.

Ahmed Hani

Mr. Ahmed Hani is Chairman of Beltone Securities Brokerage, an affiliated company of Beltone Financial Holding SAE. He joined Beltone Securities Brokerage in 2007 when the Trust Group for Securities was merged with Beltone Securities Brokerage. Mr. Hani joined Trust Group for Securities in 1998 having served in the Credit and Marketing Department of Commercial International Bank since 1993. He rose from General Manager to Managing Director and Chairman and Managing Director from 2002. Mr. Hani received a Bachelor's degree from Helwan University's Faculty of Commerce in 1992. He completed the Egyptian Capital Market Association (ECMA) Brokerage Course in 2001 and the Egyptian Capital Market Association (ECMA) General Course in 1998.

Mr. Majid Shawki Souryal is Managing Director and Member of the Board for Beltone Financial Holding SAE. He is also serving as an investment advisor and board member to number of private and governmental institutions. Mr. Souryal is the Ex-Chairman of The Egyptian Stock Exchange since July 2005 till July 2010 after being the Deputy for the chairman for almost a year. During the period of 2002 till mid 2004, he represented the Regulator (Capital Market Authority) in the board of directors of the Exchange for three years. He held the position of Senior Assistant to the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade for Securities Markets issues for around 12 years since 1995. In 2003, Mr. Souryal established the Egyptian Institute of Director (EIOD) and held the position of the Executive Director until his appointment as vice-chairman to the Exchange mid-year 2004. Furthermore, Mr. Souryal co-authored the first Egyptian Code of Corporate Governance in 2004. Mr. Souryal has an experience in corporate restructuring, asset management structures; sovereign and emerging market advisory services in various sectors. In telecom sector, during the period from 2001 till 2004, he advised the Ministry of telecommunication on number of projects. Mr. Souryal used to be board member of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), Misr for Clearing Depositary & Registration, National Post Organization, Egyptian Institute of Directors, and The Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority. He was also the former Chairman of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) for two consecutive periods. Mr. Souryal holds a Masters Degree in Financial Economics from Queen Mary, University of London, United Kingdom, and he is the authored and co-authored number of research papers on corporate governance and modelling volatility of the market, some have been published in regional and international periodicals.

Radwa El-Swaify

Ms. Radwa El-Swaify had serves as Managing Director and Head of Research within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Prior to joining Beltone, Ms. Al Swaify was working in Washington D.C., specializing in financial sector development with The World Bank Group (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development). Her experience encompasses working on several countries within the MENA and Latin America regions. Ms. Al Swaify headed the financial institutions team for five years, before being Head of Research. Ms. Al Swaify started her career in Egypt in the Corporate Finance Division of HC Securities and Investment, where she participated in several investment banking transactions within the MENA region. She also held several teaching positions including a program sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. Ms. Al Swaify holds an MBA and B.A. degrees in Business Administration (Finance) from the American University in Cairo.

Mr. Alaa Selim is Regional Human Resources Director for Beltone Financial Holding SAE since January 2008, and a Member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Selim has Human Resources background and experience. He held the position of Regional Human Resources Director for Mars Inc. covering North Africa and the East Mediterranean region. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University in 1986, after which he earned a Masters degree in Engineering Management from West Coast University of Los Angeles in 1988.

Rania Afifi

Ms. Rania Afifi is Investment Banking Director within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. She is involved in merger and acquisition (M&A) and equity capital markets transactions in the information technology, telecommunications, food and beverages, and retail sectors both within the investment banking and the private equity functions within Beltone. Prior to joining Beltone Financial on January 1, 2005, she was Assistant Manager at Commercial International Bank, in charge of developing the Real Estate Mortgage Finance Department. She has over 12 years of experience in various specializations within the financial services industry, four of which are at EFG-Hermes in addition to three years at Gulf Arab Investment Company, a regional private equity organization with substantial financial resources. At Gulf Arab Investment Company, she participated in acquisitions and in the financing of projects in various industries, including specialty glass, pharmaceutical, and food processing. In the years spent at EFG-Hermes, Ms. Afifi worked as Institutional Account Executive and was responsible for the GDR Trading Desk in the Securities and Trading Division, in addition to working for 18 months in the Investment Banking Division. She has diversified knowledge of securities trading, financial analysis, and corporate finance functions. Ms. Afifi graduated from the American University in Cairo with High Honors in 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In May 2000, she completed the Finance and Investment Appraisal Course at EFG-Hermes, based on the Chase Manhattan Credit and Investment Course, covering topics including accounting concepts, credit and investment analyses, and valuation.

Sharif Al Akhdar

Mr. Sharif A. Al Akhdar has been Principal - Beltone Private Equity Division Within Beltone Financial Holding SAE since February 2008. Prior to joining Beltone Private Equity, Mr. Al Akhdar was at American Capital Strategies, a publicly traded private equity firm, where he was responsible for direct equity investments in the form of leverage buyouts and growth financings. Mr. Al Akhdar received a B.A. summa cum laude in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the American University in Cairo and a M.Sc. in Finance degree magna cum laude from the George Washington University School of Business. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Corporate Restructuring and Mergers and Acquisitions Program.

Mustafa Al Anwar

Mr. Mustafa Al Anwar has been Principal - Beltone Private Equity Division within Beltone Financial Holding SAE since 2008. He started his investment management career in 2000 at EFG-Hermes. He was in charge of the fixed income and money market desk at EFG-Hermes Asset Management and was responsible for the cash management of all on-shore and off-shore funds managed by the firm. Mr. Al Anwar holds a B.A. in Accounting from Cairo University and an MBA, with a concentration in finance and private equity, from London Business School. He completed the Finance and Investment Appraisal Course at EFG-Hermes, based on the Chase Manhattan Credit Course.

Omar Al Hamawy

Mr. Omar Al Hamawy is a Director - Beltone Investment Banking Division within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Since joining the Company, Mr. Al Hamawy has been involved in Capital Markets transactions, with a focus on the real estate sector, which included advising Mena for Touristic and Real Estate Investments on a capital increase, advising Beltone Private Equity on the tender offer and acquisition of Nasr City Housing and Development, and advising Smart Villages Development and Management Company on the potential initial public offering (IPO). Mr. Al Hamawy also advised Rolaco Holding on the execution of the acquisition of a stake in Semiramis Hotels Company. He has also worked in other sectors, including advising El Nasr Clothing & Textiles (Kabo) on its acquisition of a casual-wear retailer. was an Assistant Manager in the Private Equity Division of the Commercial International Bank, Egypt, In this capacity, Mr. Al Hamawy was handling the investments of the bank, with a focus on the tourism and oil and gas sectors.

Yasmine Ali

Ms. Yasmine Ali is Head of Equity - Beltone Asset Management within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. She joined Beltone Asset Management in 2004. Ms. Ali began her career in 1998 as a financial analyst working for Horus Private Equity Fund at EFG - Hermes. She was responsible for analyzing companies and making recommendations to the investment committee. In 2000, Ms. Ali moved to join the equity team at EFG - Hermes covering the Egyptian Market as a financial analyst responsible for multiple sectors and a member of the investment committee responsible for portfolio allocation and performance. Within the space of two years, Ms. Ali was promoted to the office of vice president at EFG - Hermes Asset Management, responsible for covering the Middle East and North Africa markets and managing one of the first funds investing in the Middle East and North African markets. After graduating in 1998 from the American University in Cairo with a B.A. in Economics, Ms. Ali completed the Finance and Investment Appraisal course offered by EFG - Hermes based on Chase Manhattan standards.

Hazim Barakat

Mr. Hazem Barakat is Head of Private Equity for Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Mr. Barakat co-founded Beltone Private Equity in partnership with Beltone Financial. Since joining the business, he has led the creation of three funds: Beltone Capital, Beltone Investment Group and Beltone Retail. Mr. Barakat is also CEO of MIRACO-Carrier, which he co-founded as MIRACO in 1979 with its Chairman, Mr. Adel Barakat, to manufacture air-conditioners and residential and industrial refrigerators. Since 1982, Mr. Barakat has held various positions in the company's Manufacturing, Sales, Service, and contracting divisions. In 1989, he moved to executive management. In 1999, Mr. Barakat established the Egyptian Confectionary Company and in 2001, he established the Engineering Plastic Manufacturing Company, which specializes in plastic injection for engineering products and packaged food. Mr. Barakat graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in 1982 with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the School of Business, Economics, and Communication at the American University in Cairo and a Trustee of the Egyptian Economic Forum. He is also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce, the British Egyptian Business Association, and the Egyptian Businessmen's Association. Previous directorships include the Egypt-United States President's Council.

Angus Blair

Mr. Angus Blair is Head of Research Division for Beltone Financial Holding SAE since 2006. He has over 25 years experience in investment banking and the financial services sector. Prior to joining Beltone Financial, Mr. Blair was a consultant to a number of companies within the Middle East and internationally, advising on restructuring and extending operations across the Arab world. He was previously head of asset management / product development at Al Rajhi Bank in Saudi Arabia (one of the Islamic financial institutions) developing products for a retail banking network in Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he was managing director of Safron Advisors, one of the first private equity firms specialising in investments in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. Previously, Mr. Blair was head of equities, and later also of sales and trading, for a number of emerging markets at ING Barings and ABN AMRO, based in London. He headed the team which started the first coverage of the Arab stock markets by a global investment bank. In these positions he oversaw, and led, a number of key equity capital market transactions in the Arab markets. These included writing the first research on the Arab stock markets, managing the first company in Egypt (CIB) to list as a Global Depositary Receipt (GDR) on the London Stock Exchange, as well as the first funds to allow foreign investors to invest in the Saudi Arabian and Omani stock markets, amongst other issues. He won a number of awards for his coverage of the MENA region, including the first position in the annual Institutional Investor survey (for the MENA region) and Global Finance magazine's emerging markets superstar. Prior to covering emerging markets, Mr. Blair covered the United Kingdom stock market, latterly as a UK market strategist at Barings, and previously he was part of a double Extel award winning team covering the conglomerates and leisure sectors in the United Kingdom market.

Wael El Mahgary

Mr. Wael Mohammed Sayid El Mahgary is Head of Asset Management for Beltone Financial Holding SAE. He joined Beltone Financial in 2003. Mr. Al Mahjari was a Portfolio Manager at EFG-Hermes Asset Management from 2000, where his responsibilities included investing in Egypt; cash management of on- and off-shore funds; analysis of MENA banks and economies, and setting country weights for regional funds. He served as an executive at the MM Group, one of the diversified business groups in Egypt, responsible for developing new trading partners in the United States, Europe and Africa. He was responsible for the MM Group's loans and credit lines as well as managing banking relationships. Mr. Al Mahjari graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1998 with B.A. degree in Business Administration (highest honors) and Economics.

Sherine Fadel

Ms. Sherine Fadel is Head of Asset Management - Beltone Asset Management within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. She joined the Company in June 2004, and was in charge of the middle office, which includes customer service and performance analysis for funds and portfolios as well as being responsible for all shareholders' and clients' accounts. Before joining Beltone Asset Management, Ms. Fadel was employed by EFG-Hermes Asset Management. She holds a Masters degree in Business Administration with a major in Banking and Finance from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport.

Yasmin Hasan

Ms. Yasmin Ibrahim Hasan had served as a Principal - Beltone Private Equity Division within of Beltone Financial Holding SAE since February 2008. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Hasan was a Vice President at EFG-Hermes Asset Management, where she spent six years managing funds and portfolios investing in the Middle East and Africa. Ms. Hasan holds an MBA from INSEAD University with a management and finance concentration. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Cairo University. In May 2000, she completed the Finance and Investment Appraisal Course at EFG-Hermes, based on the Chase Manhattan Credit and Investment Course.

Ahmad Madbouly

Mr. Ahmad A. Madbouly is Chief Financial Officer - Beltone Private Equity Division at Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Since 1986, Mr. Madbouly has brought his experience in the areas of finance and accounting. Prior to Beltone Private Equity, Mr. Madbouly held the position of Financial & Administration Director at the Nile Valley Gas Company, a joint venture between British Gas, Edison International, Orascom and Mega. In 2004, he joined EDAFCO, SADAFCO Egypt & SPF Companies in Egypt, a JV between KIPCO-UIC of Kuwait & SADAFCO of KSA, where he served as Financial & Administration Director. During his assignment he established and maintained business controls, and implemented control of all financial policies and procedures. Mr. Madbouly also served as Chief Financial Officer of Miraco Carrier Air-Conditioning from 2000 - 2003. During this period he was responsible of guiding and managing all financial activities within the different business areas (including Manufacturing, Contracting, Trading, Supply Chain, Import/Export, Services, Warranty & 3rd party partnership). In 1997, he joined SIEMENS, Egypt as a Financial Controller and from 1994 to 1997, he worked as Chief Accountant at Caltex, Egypt. Mr. Madbouly held the position of Accounting Supervisor at Holmes & Narver Services Inc. in Egypt and in 1987 he joined General Dynamics as a Senior Accountant. Mr. Madbouly holds a B.A. in Accounting from Ain Shams University and is currently enrolled in IFRS training.

Dr. Abdul Monem Omran is Chief Investment Officer - Beltone Private Equity Division of Beltone Financial Holding SAE. He has experience in the areas of project finance development, direct investment and management of private equity funds in Egypt, the Gulf and Europe. Following work with Douwe Egberts, a food industries group in the Netherlands, he joined the Industrial Bank of Kuwait in 1976. Dr. Omran joined Helarb Management S.A., Switzerland, as Manager of the Middle East Operations and became a partner and Managing Director in 1987. In 1994, Dr. Omran founded Egivest Consulting, an advisory firm which provided investment management, project development and consulting services to local and regional investors. Dr. Omran holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California (Berkeley), 1972, and B.Sc. Chemical Engineering from Cairo University. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Air Liquide, (Egypt), a subsidiary of Air Liquide, France, which is engaged in the industrial gases industry, and is a Member of the American Chamber of Commerce.

Esmat Osman

Ms. Esmat Osman had served as Equity Portfolio Manager - Beltone Asset Management within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Prior to her current position, she was employed by EFG-Hermes as an associate of EFG-Hermes Private Equity. From 2003 to 2005, Ms. Osman was employed by Commercial International Bank as a senior credit analyst in the credit department. Prior to CIB, Mrs. Osman was employed by MIBC, a joint venture between Banque Misr, ING-Barings and Concord Investments, as an associate in the corporate finance department. Mrs. Osman was also employed by EFG-Hermes in the Brokerage and the Investment Banking departments from 1999 until 2001. Ms. Osman graduated in 1999 from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in computer science.

Khalid Saba

Mr. Khalid Saba is Head of Beltone Investment Banking within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Mr. Saba has experience in the banking sector serving for Orascom Telecom (OT), where he participated and headed several high profile transactions for OT in Iraq, Bangladesh, Italy, Egypt and Korea. Previously, he headed Investment Banking at the Arab Banking Corporation in Egypt with experience in structuring and managing equity transactions in the MENA region. Mr. Saba was previously a member of the board of several OT companies and member of the board of the Smart Villages Company. Mr. Saba holds MBA degree in International Business and Marketing and a B.A. degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo.

Ayman Waked

Mr. Ayman Waked is Head of Trading - Beltone Asset Management within Beltone Financial Holding SAE. Prior to joining Beltone Financial, Mr. Waked held various posts at a number investment banks. He has more than a decade of experience in the field. His most recent three-year tenure at EFG-Hermes saw him take on the position of Chief Technical Analyst. Mr. Waked has also worked for SIGMA Capital and Momentum Wavers, as Chief Technical Analyst. He is a Certified Financial Technician, CFTe and holds a Masters Degree in Financial Technical Analysis (MFTA) from the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA).

Sheikh Khalid Bin Zayed Bin Saqer Al Nahyan is Non-Executive Member of the Board for Beltone Financial Holding SAE. He is a graduate in Business Administration from Boston University, and he has completed his Ph.D. course work in Finance from Michigan State University. He is the Chairman and Founder of Bin Zayed Group, a conglomerate established in 1988 with diverse business interests in the local and international markets. The Bin Zayed Group’s key activities comprise four business fields: Construction & Energy, Trading & Industry, Real Estate, Technology and Financial Services. He holds positions in several private and public organizations, such as Chairman of The Islamic Arab Insurance Company (SALAMA), which is an Islamic Takaful and Re-Takaful Company. He is also Vice-Chairman of Dubai Islamic Bank and a Board Member of Al Firdous Holdings and Abraaj Capital. In addition, he is on the board of numerous sovereign entities, serving as Chairman of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Board Member of Dubai School of Government and United Arab Emirates Insurance Authority.

Mr. Sameeh Onsi Sawirous is Non-Executive Member of the Board for Beltone Financial Holding SAE. He attended the German School in Cairo (Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule) and he graduated from the Technical University of Berlin with a Diploma in Economic Engineering in 1980. He is the Chairman of Orascom Development Holding (ODH), a Swiss- incorporated company, as well as a Board Member of Guggenheim Museum and member of Sawiris Foundation which was founded in April 2001.
