Name Description

Mark Fischer

Mr. Mark A. Fischer is Chairman of the Board of Chaparral Energy, Inc. He co-founded Chaparral in 1988 and has served as its President and Chairman of the Board since its inception. Mr. Fischer began his career with Exxon Company USA in 1972 in the Permian Basin of West Texas where he held various positions as production engineer, reservoir engineer, field superintendent and finally supervising production engineer. From 1977 until 1980, Mr. Fischer served as the drilling and production manager for the West Texas and then Mid-Continent Division of TXO Production Corp. Prior to founding Chaparral, he served as division operations manager for Slawson Exploration Company from 1980 to 1988, focusing on the Mid-Continent and Panhandle Divisions. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Petroleum Institute. Mr. Fischer served as a director of the API from 1984 to 1986. Mr. Fischer graduated from Texas A&M University in 1972 with an honors degree in aerospace engineering.

K. Earl Reynolds

Mr. K. Earl Reynolds is Chief Executive Officer, Director of Chaparral Energy Inc. Mr. Reynolds joined the Company in February 2011 as an Executive Vice President and the Chief Operating Officer before being named President in 2014 and Chief Executive Officer in 2017. From 2000 to 2010, Mr. Reynolds led the international business unit and was actively involved in strategic planning for Devon Energy, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, where he was responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, coordination of acquisitions and divestitures, and oversight of the company’s assessment of oil and gas reserves. Prior to Devon Energy, Mr. Reynolds’ career included several key leadership roles in domestic and international operations with companies such as Burlington Resources and Mobil Oil. Mr. Reynolds has served on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations in Houston and Oklahoma City. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association and serves as the Chairman of its Regulatory Committee. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma City YMCA. Mr. Reynolds holds a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University. In 2013, he was named as a Distinguished Fellow of the Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering.

Scott Pittman

Mr. Scott Pittman has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of the company, Effective March 16, 2019. Scott Pittman has over 14 years of senior financial management, commercial and investment banking experience. Most recently, Mr. Pittman served as the Chief Financial Officer of Ursa Resources, an exploration and production company focused on unconventional resource development, and the Chief Financial Officer of Aethon Energy Management, a private investment firm focused on North American onshore upstream oil and gas assets. He has also served as Vice President-Finance at Cobalt International Energy, and as a Vice President in commercial and investment banking at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. for nine years. Mr. Pittman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas.

David Ketelsleger

Mr. David J. Ketelsleger is appointed as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel of Chaparral Energy, Inc. He joined Chaparral in November, 2012 and oversees the Legal, Human Resources, Land Administration, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Marketing, and Environmental Health and Safety functions. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Ketelsleger was a partner at the law firm of McAfee & Taft A Professional Corporation specializing in public and private finance, securities and business transactions. Mr. Ketelsleger joined McAfee & Taft in 1990 and is listed in The Lawyers in America (corporate compliance law; corporate governance law; corporate law; mergers and acquisitions law; securities/capital markets law) and Chambers USA Guide to America’s Lawyers for Business. Mr. Ketelsleger has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1986 and worked at Touche Ross & Co. prior to attending law school. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in Accounting from the University of Montana and his Juris Doctorate, with highest honors, from the University of Oklahoma.

G. Don Culpepper

Mr. G. Don Culpepper, Jr. serves as the Senior Vice President - Corporate Drilling Manager of Chaparral Energy Inc. He joined the Company in June 2011. From 2004 to May 2011, Mr. Culpepper was actively involved in domestic drilling operations for Devon Energy, most recently serving as Director—Category Management & Analysis, and was responsible for activities in building a new organizational capability to identify strategic categories of spend in order to more efficiently leverage the corporation’s capital budget relative to supply chain needs in the United States and Canada. Prior to Devon Energy, Mr. Culpepper’s career included key roles of responsibility in domestic and international operations with companies such as EOG Resources and Texaco. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and has completed several post graduate certificate programs from The Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.

Jeffery Dahlberg

Mr. Jeffery D. Dahlberg is Senior Vice President - Southern Region Manager of Chaparral Energy Inc. He joined Chaparral in 2007 as District Manager of the Mid-Continent West Division. From 2003 through 2007, Mr. Dahlberg was actively employed in technical and senior management positions for Windsor Energy, most recently serving as its Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Windsor Energy, Mr. Dahlberg’s career included several technical and management roles with Enserch Exploration, Texas Oil and Gas, and Twister Gas Services. Mr. Dahlberg is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, graduating in 1980.

Jeffrey Gutman

Mr. Jeffrey M. Gutman is appointed as the Senior Vice President - Chief Business Development Officer of Chaparral Energy, Inc. He joined the Company in February 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gutman had been at Oxford Resource Partners, LP (Oxford), a producer of surface-mined steam coal based in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Gutman served as Oxford’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2008, and led Oxford’s initial public offering as an MLP in 2010. Prior to his joining Oxford, Mr. Gutman was with The Williams Companies, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 17 years where he served in several leadership positions including Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions, Chief Financial Officer of Gulf Liquids, Structured Finance and Capital Services. Prior to joining Williams, Mr. Gutman was with Deloitte & Touche, LLC in their Tulsa office. Mr. Gutman is a Certified Public Accountant in Oklahoma and holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.

James Miller

Mr. James M. Miller is Senior Vice President - Operations of Chaparral Energy, Inc. Mr. Miller joined the Company in 1996 as its Operations Engineer. Since joining the Company, Mr. Miller has been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility and currently oversees the Company’s production and completion operations as Senior Vice President of Operations. During this time, he has gained particular expertise in the area of operating secondary and tertiary recovery units. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Miller worked for KEPCO Operating Inc. as a Petroleum Engineer. From 1987 to 1995, he was employed by Robert A. Mason Production Co. as a Petroleum Engineer and later as Vice President of Production. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Petroleum Institute. Mr. Miller attended the University of Oklahoma and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Scott Wehner

Mr. Scott C. Wehner serves as the Senior Vice President - EOR Business Unit Manager of Chaparral Energy Inc. He joined Chaparral in 2010 as the Vice President of the EOR-CO2 Unit. Prior to joining Chaparral, Mr. Wehner worked for Whiting O&G Corp. where he assisted with the capitalization of assets with CO2 potential. Prior to Whiting, he left Texaco after 20 years to help Kinder Morgan open its CO2 EOR operations office in Midland, Texas to exploit the acquisition of the SACROC Unit. With 31 years industry experience, his past 26 years have been associated with the evaluation, design, implementation and management of CO2 projects in West Texas, Southeast New Mexico, Oklahoma and Wyoming. He has published and presented various CO2-related papers and has a US Patent involving the CO2 process. He is a member and past Director of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers and sits on the RCP Advisory Board of the Colorado School of Mines. Mr. Wehner graduated from the University of Missouri—Rolla in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering and received UMR’s Distinguished Young Alumnus Award in 1997. He is a recipient of a 2003 Engineer of the Year Award from the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and is a member of the American Petroleum Institute.

Douglas Brooks

Mr. Douglas Brooks is Director of the Company. Prior to joining the board, Mr. Brooks served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for Yates Petroleum, a privately owned exploration and production company focused on the Delaware and Powder River basins. Before that time, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Oil & Gas Limited and a Senior Vice President at Forest Oil Corporation. In addition, he spent 24 years with Marathon Oil Company in roles of increasing responsibility, lastly as the Director of Upstream Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development for the Americas. Mr. Brooks has also built two private equity-sponsored firms focused on unconventional resource projects in the western U.S. and served as a board member for Aurora Oil & Gas Limited, Magdalena Energy Company, Yates Petroleum and the Houston Producers’ Forum. He is currently an advisor for Hart Energy’s A&D Watch, a global energy research publication. Mr. Brooks holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Wyoming – Casper and a Masters of Business Administration, Finance from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas.

Matthew Cabell

Mr. Matthew Cabell is Director of the Company. Mr. Cabell retired from Seneca Resources in 2016, where he had served as its President since 2006. Prior to that time, he was as an Executive Vice President and General Manager at Marubeni Oil & Gas, USA, and held various roles in the exploration and production segments of Texaco and Amerada Hess Corporation. Mr. Cabell currently serves as an advisor to KKR. He has also previously served as a member of the board for the American Exploration and Production Council and America’s Natural Gas Alliance. Mr. Cabell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Michigan and his Masters of Business Administrations from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Robert Heinemann

Mr. Robert F. Heinemann is Director of the Company. From 2002 to 2013, Mr. Heinemann worked for Berry Petroleum Company, serving as a director and then as the President and Chief Executive Officer for the last nine years of his tenure. Prior to that time, he was employed at Halliburton Company and Mobil Exploration and Producing, as well as various other Mobil entities, in positions of increasing responsibility. Mr. Heinemann currently serves on the board for several other energy companies, including Crescent Point Energy Corporation, Crestone Peak Resources, L.L.C. and Great Western Oil and Gas Company, L.L.C., where he was the chairman from 2014 to 2016. He has also previously served on the board for Yates Petroleum Corporation until its merger in late 2016 and as chairman of the board for C12 Energy, L.L.C. Mr. Heinemann holds Bachelor of Engineering and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Samuel Langford

Mr. Samuel E. Langford is Director of the Company. Mr. Langford continues to serve as the principal for Langford Upstream Advisory, L.L.C., a position he has held since 2013. Prior to Langford, he spent eight years working in positions of growing responsibility at Newfield Exploration, including roles as the company’s Vice President of Corporate Development, General Manager for its Mid-Continent Business Unit and Senior Corporate Advisor. Before joining Newfield, Mr. Langford spent time at Cockrell Oil Corporation, British Gas E&P, Tenneco Inc., Tenneco Oil Co. and Exxon USA. Mr. Langford is currently also a member of the board of directors for Basic Energy Services. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University.

Kenneth Moore

Mr. Kenneth W. Moore is Director of the Company. From 2004 to 2015, Mr. Moore served as a Managing Director at First Reserve Corporation, a global private equity firm, which invests exclusively in the energy industry. Prior to that time, he served as a Vice President at Morgan Stanley New York and as a director for Enstar Group Limited, Chart Industries, Inc. and Dresser-Rand Group Inc. Mr. Moore is currently a member of the board of directors for Cobalt International. He has also previously served on several other boards, including those for Enstar Group, Dresser Rand and Chart Industries. Mr. Moore graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and received his Master of Business Administration from Cornell University.

Gysle Shellum

Mr. Gysle R. Shellum is Director of the Company. Mr. Shellum previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of PDC Energy, Inc. from 2008 until his retirement in 2016. Prior to that time, he was the Vice President of Finance at Cross Energy, L.P. (now EnLink Midstream, L.L.C.). Mr. Shellum is currently an at-large director for the Independent Petroleum Association of America and serves on the University of Colorado Global Energy Management Graduate Program’s Advisory Council. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Texas.

Kyle Vann

Mr. Kyle D. Vann is Independent Director of Chaparral Energy, Inc. Mr. Vann possesses experience in exploration and production, midstream, energy services and trading. Mr. Vann joined CCMP Capital Advisors, LLC in October 2012 as an Executive Advisor. Previously, he spent 25 years in various senior leadership positions at Koch Industries including the creation of Entergy-Koch LP, an energy trading and transportation joint venture between Entergy Corporation and Koch Industries operating in North America and Europe, and served as its CEO. A chemical engineer by training, Mr. Vann has supported development of early trading models for price-setting mechanisms between crude and refined products, the development of Koch’s Texas Pipeline System from Corpus Christi, Texas, to Dallas, and was also deeply involved with Charles Koch’s development of Market-Based Management® which helped the company significantly out-perform the S&P 500. Mr. Vann started his career with Humble Oil and Refining Company (which later became part of Exxon) as a refinery engineer. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Texon LP, Crosstex Energy and Legacy Reserves and provides energy consulting services to Entergy Corporation. He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas and recently was named as a recipient of the university’s Distinguished Engineering Service Award.

Marcus Rowland

Mr. Marcus Rowland is Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Marc Rowland is the founder and senior managing director of IOG Capital, LP and is the chief executive officer of IOG Resources, LLC. Mr. Rowland serves on a number of private and public boards, including as chairman of the board for SilverBow Resources. Prior to founding IOG Capital, he served as the chief executive officer at FTS International, Inc. (formerly Frac Tech International, LLC) from May 2011 to November 2012 and as the president and chief financial officer of Frac Tech Services, LLC and Frac Tech International, LLC from November 2010 to May 2011. Mr. Rowland served as the chief financial officer or equivalent positions of Chesapeake Energy Corporation from 1993, when the company became publicly traded, until October 2010. Mr. Rowland is a 1975 alumnus of Wichita State University and currently serves as a member of the investment committee.
