Name Description

Emmanouel Panagiotakis

Mr. Emmanouel M. (Manolis) Panagiotakis has served as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors & Chief Executive Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. since April 7, 2015. He started working in the Corporation in 1974, while for the past 20 years he has been an executive in the top management of the Organization. He is a Mechanical-Electrical Engineer from National Technical University of Athens since 1972 and holder of the Diploma in Management from Henley Management College. He has worked as a self-employed professional on studies and constructions of electromechanical building installations. He has been member of the executives committee that executed the separation of the Distribution sector from PPC and implemented HEDNO’s basic organization and composition, as well as its operation systems. Also, he has been an Assistant Director and Director of the Organization Department, Director of the Distribution Planning & Performance Department, Director of Distribution Human Resources, Director of Human Resources Training, Occupational Health & Safety, Housing and General Services of HEDNO. From managerial positions, he has participated actively in all PPC’s modernization and reorganization projects, among which the THALES Agreement with Electricite de France (EDF). He participated as Member in the Board of Directors of the Organization of Meditation and Arbitration, where he planned among others the systems for recruitment and selection by employers and syndicates, as well as for the remunerations of Mediators-Arbitrators. He served as Member of the Social Security Council under the presidency of the General Secretary of the relevant Ministry, as well as Member of the first Board of Directors of PPC Employees’ Insurance Organization with active and substantial role in the formation of the legal and institutional framework of its operation. He served as Chairman & Deputy CEO of IPTO S.A. until February 6, 2017.

Stavros Goutsos

Mr. Stavros K. Goutsos serves as Deputy CEO supervising the Finance Division, Human Resources and Organization Division and the Support Operations Division; Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. He is professor (Assistant) at the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering, of the University of Patras. His scientific field is business administration with emphasis in quality assurance systems and human resources management. He is coordinator of a group of 11 professors at the Greek Open University, in the field of quality assurance systems. He holds a degree in mathematics (1973) from the University of Patras. He continued his studies at Universite Paris IX Dauphine, where, he obtained his Diplome des Etudes Approfondies (D.E.A.) in Gestion des Activites non Marchandes (1984) and his Doctorat (1987). He has been involved in funded research projects, as partner/ scientific coordinator/ researcher. He has participated in numerous workshops in the framework of these projects, in Greece and abroad. He has published in Greek and international scientific journals and in the proceedings of conferences. He has taught also in other Greek universities and abroad. He has supervised PhD dissertations, Masters’ thesis projects and final year projects. He has been involved in the organization of conferences and seminars. He was a member of different councils working groups in several organizations.

Georgios Andriotis

Mr. Georgios A. Andriotis has served as Independent Non-Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since July 11, 2016. Civil Engineer, pensioner of Public Power Corporation (PPC), with 45 years of experience (1970-2015) in design, supervision, construction contract management and coordination of the implementation of Large and Small Hydropower projects, as well as in providing Consulting and Engineering Services for large hydraulic projects. Furthermore, he has 6 years of experience (1986-1992) in PPC administration operations, as elected member of the Representative Assembly of Social Control. He was a member of the Energy Committee (2008-2011) of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) representing TEE at evaluation committees for PPC’s large projects tendering procedures. He holds a diploma in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1962-1967). Self employed hydraulic engineering (1970-1974), specialized in hydraulic project designs. Public Power Corporation employee from 1974 to 1997 (Hydro Projects Development Department), with experience in designing and construction of hydroelectric projects (Assomata and Giona HPP). As Head of the Small Hydro Section (1990-1997) he was responsible for the coordination and supervision of designs for Makrochori and Glafkos HEP as well as for engineering reports for Eleoussa, Gitani, Vorino HEPs, Ikaria hybrid project, etc. Consulting Engineer specializing in small hydro and large hydraulic projects (1998-today). General Coordinator of consulting engineering services in various projects such as Construction of Acheloos-Thessaly Diversion Tunnel, Implementation and Impoundment of Smokovo Dam, Patras Water Supply Project from Peiros and Parapeiros Rivers, etc. He is Member of the Audit Committee, and has served as Member of the Remunerations Committee of the Company since January 9, 2017.

Alexandra Konida

Ms. Alexandra L. Konida serves as Chief Financial Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. In the past, she also served as Director of Investor Relations & Treasury Department of the Company. She holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MBA degree from INSEAD. She previously served as Vice President of Corporate & Investment Banking of Citibank Greece and of Bank of America. She was also Director of Investor Relations and then Chief Financial Officer of Maillis Group.

Georgios Damaskos

Mr. Georgios Damaskos serves as Chief Human Resources and Organization Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. Mr. Damaskos joined the company in 1987. For 16 consecutive years since his recruitment he has served as Head of various front-line operating units of the former Distribution Division (currently known as Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator). From 2002 to 2006 he was Head of the company’s Tariffs Section.  He has held the position of Director of the Corporate Development and Administration Department (currently Strategy Department and Office of the Executive), as well as the position of Director of Planning and Human Resources of the Supply Division. From 2008 until his assignment in the position of General Manager of Human Resources, he was Director of Human Resources and Organization of the Company. From 2008 to 2011, along with his duties at PPC, he was member of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Fund for Bank and Utility Companies Employees (TAYTEKO) as representative of the employers, on behalf of the Company. He also served as member of the Executive Committee of IKA-ETAM/PPC Personnel Insurance Sector (TAP-DEH). Prior to joining PPC he worked in the private sector, in the construction industry, and he was specialized in the implementation of PPC projects, thus acquiring a significant construction and site experience.  Mr. George Damaskos is an Electrical Engineer, member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, and holds a degree in Economic Sciences from the Economics Department of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Political Sciences of the University of Athens. He also holds an MBA degree in Business Administration from the Kingston Business School (Kingston University).

Mr. Ioannis Kopanakis has served as Chief Corporate Development Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. since January 10, 2017. He served as General Manager of Generation Division of the Company between January 24, 2011 and January 10, 2017. He served as General Manager of Generation, Acting General Manager of Supply Division within the Company between November 16, 2010 and January 24, 2011, as General Manager of Generation within the Company between June 30, 2010 and November 16, 2010, as General Manager of Generation, Acting General Manager of the Mines Division within the Company between May 19, 2010 and June 30, 2010, as General Manager of Generation within the Company between September 1, 2009 and May 19, 2010, and as Manager of Thermal Power Plants Operation Department within the Company between 2007 and September 1, 2009. He served as Manager of the Planning and Performance Department of the Generation Unit for the previous six years, whereas, since joining PPC in 1985 and for 13 years, he has worked as Senior Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor and Manager of a Steam-Electric station. He holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and also has an MBA degree from Nottingham Trend University.

Lazaros Stathakis

Mr. Lazaros Stathakis has served as Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since July 11, 2016. Chemical Engineer National Technical University of Athens. Professional experience: Attache for 5 years in the Perm. Repr. of Greece to the EU in Brussels, including the Greek Presidency of 2003 and 4 years in DG Energy of the E. Commission on R&D demonstration projects. For 15 years he was working in the Ministry of Public Works for the design and the construction of the sludge disposal facility in Psyttalia Waste water Treatment Plant of Attica. He has worked as a free-lance Engineer, as advisor to Local Authorities and as Gen. Secr. of the Municipality of Piraeus, participated the Board of private companies and the Board of H.R.A.D.F. He has been an active member of the student movement against the Dictatorship and participated in the democratic political struggles after 1974.

Mr. Nikolaos Aravantinos serves as Chief Support Operations Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. He joined PPC in 1984 and has since then served in various positions within the Company. He has worked for five years as an executive in the Distribution Unit and has then moved on to the IT Department, where he held both technical and managerial positions. Since 2001, he has served as the Director of the Information Technology Department. He holds a diploma of mechanical and electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and has post graduate studies in computer science (Diplome d' Etudes Approfondies en Informatique, Universite Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris VI) and Management (Master of Business Administration, Brunel University).

Mr. Lazaros Karalazos serves as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. He has been with PPC for 22 years. Before his appointment as General Manager of Supply Division of PPC, he had served as Director of the Fuel Purchasing and Logistics Department from 2007. Among other, Mr. Karalazos also served as Director of the Fuel and Purchasing Department of the Generation Division from 2001 to 2007. Mr. Karalazos holds an Electrical Engineering Diploma from the Technical University of Darmstadt of Germany and a degree in Finance Engineering from the Technische Universitaet Muenchen.

Olga Kouridou

Mrs. Olga Kouridou has served as Chief Mining Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. since July 10, 2015. Since 1985, she has been working within the Mines Division of PPC, having established a robust track record in management, financial management and operations. She has a 25-year experience in mines operation, financial management and administration serving in senior positions in the West Macedonia Lignite Centre. From 2010 up to 2014 she served as Director of the West Macedonia Lignite Centre, the largest Business Unit of PPC. From 2014 till her current appointment, she served as special Advisor to the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Company regarding Mines and Power Plants operational issues. She holds a Mining Engineering and Metallurgy degree from the National Technical School of Athens of National Technical University of Athens and has been actively involved at the local communities of West Macedonia.

Dimitrios Metikanis

Mr. Dimitrios Metikanis has served as Chief Generation Officer of Public Power Corporation S.A. since January 10, 2017. Mr. Metikanis has been a member of PPC staff since 1986; his career set off at Ptolemais Thermal Power Plant, where he remained for more than five years, therefore gaining significant know-how in the operation of thermal Power Plants. Thereafter, he was appointed in several technical and administrative positions in the Generation Division, holding posts in the Generation Exploitation Department and Materials Fuel and Purchasing Department (1992-2007), as well as in the Fuel Purchasing and Logistics Department (2007-2008) of the Finance Division. During his term in the above mentioned Departments, he gained experience in dealing with various projects regarding, but without limitation, power plants’ operation and environmental affairs, as well as fuels’ purchasing and management (lignite, oil and natural gas). In May 2008 he was appointed Director of Generation Planning and Performance Department, vested with a series of competencies, ranging from the development of Generation's Strategic and Business Plan, the Units’ operational planning up to the monitoring of their operational and financial efficiency. Prior to joining PPC he worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Metikanis holds a diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), as well as an MBA degree.

Nikolaos Fotopoulos

Mr. Nikolaos (Nikos) Fotopoulos has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors, Representative of the Employees of Public Power Corporation S.A. since May 30, 2013. Nikos is Electrical Technician (Technical School of PPC). From the age of 16 he has been involved in politics and community affairs. For 10 years he served as Secretary of the Energy Domain Committee of the Socialist Party (PASOK). In 1998 he was elected at the Board of Directors of the Association of PPC’s Technicians and served as Press Officer.  Since 2007 until July 2013, he was president of the General Federation of Employees at PPC-Electricity Sector (GENOP/DEI) and member of the Executive Committee of EMCF. From 2010 he is member of the Administration of the Greek General Confederation of Labor (GSEE) and as of April 2013 he is member of the Executive Committee.

Pantelis Karaleftheris

Mr. Pantelis Karaleftheris has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors, Representative of the Employees of Public Power Corporation S.A. since May 30, 2013. Pantelis is qualified electrical foreman and works for PPC SA Mines. From 1984 to 1987 he worked as electrical technician at the project construction companies PPC ASPATE – ALSTHOM and BIOKAT. In 1987 he was hired at the Main Field Mine of PPC as electrician of fixed equipment maintenance and failure restoration. He has served as President of the Coordination Body of Students of the Democritos and the Professional and Technical School of Thessaloniki (KETE). He is very interested in folklore and has made many research trips in Asia Minor, Pontus and the Black Sea. He has been a founding member of the 1st administration of Pontian Greek Youth and member of the Board of Directors of the International Confederation of Pontian Greeks. Since 1994 he is senior member of PPC trade union and has participated in many European and Word Conferences on carbon, energy and the Environment. For six years he has served as General Secretary of the SPARTAKOS trade union, while he was Deputy Secretary of GENOP/PPC for six years (2008-2013). Later he was elected representative of the employees on the Board of Directors of PPC S.A. He has graduated the Academy of KANEP of the GGCL and trains trainers in lifelong learning.

Aris Vatalis

Mr. Aris Ch. Vatalis has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since December 18, 2015. Aris graduated from the General Lyceum and then attended a Secondary Technical School with direction in engineering. He has been working for PPC SA as a technician, in the Western Macedonia’s Lignite Center, since September 1993. Since 1995 he has developed a strong trade union activity and has also participated in sports and cultural organizations. He is currently the Deputy Secretary at the Union "SPARTAKOS" that represents the workers of PPC SA. He has participated in international conferences on matters that refer to Energy and the Environment. For a long time he was the President of the largest and most historic sports club in Kozani, and has also been a member of the Board at Greek Handball Federation (where he was in charge of the women's National Groups).

Panagiotis Alexakis

Dr. Panagiotis Alexakis has served as Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since July 23, 2013. Panagiotis previously served as Non-Executive Independent Director-Minority Representative of the Company between December 17, 2009 and July 23, 2013. In 1975 he earned a BA in Economics from a Greek university. In 1977 he earned a M Sc in Economics and Finance and in 1981 he received a PhD in International Money and Finance from British universities. He worked at the Ministry of National Economy, Division of Inter-Country Economic Relations and, in 1984, at the Bank of Greece, Currency Section of the Studies and Research Division. In 1985 he started his academic career, at the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean and, since 1995, at the Department of Economics of the University of Athens, where he is an Associate Professor, teaching managerial economics and finance. He has worked as a financial consultant and has held management posts for industrial firms, banks, foreign exchanges, and non-bank financial institutions. In May 1998 he was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Athens Derivatives Exchange and the Athens Derivatives Clearing House S.A., while in August 2000 he also became President and CEO of the Athens Stock Exchange S.A. He has been a member of the BOD of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (August 2000-September 2004). He was also a member of the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Banks Association during the period 1994-2004. Since November 2004 he is a member of the Corporate Advisory Committee of the Cyprus Stock Exchange. In Sept. 2004 - Jan. 2006, he was Advisor to the Board and member of the BOD of the Investment Bank of Greece. Since January 2006, he undertook the post of Advisor to the Board and (since May 2006) the post of Executive Vice Chairman and Member of the Board of NIREUS AQUACULTURE SA. Since, July 2006, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of PROTON BANK (Greece).

Maria Founti

Prof. Maria Founti has served as Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since September 26, 2017. Maris is Mechanical Engineer / Professor at the NTUA. She is a Faculty member at the School of Mechanical Engineering of NTUA since 1987. She has been the Director of the Laboratory of Heterogeneous Mixtures and Combustion Systems since 2002 and Professor in the Thermal Engineering Section since 2007. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of London, MSc. and D.I.C. in Heat Transfer Engineering and Ph.D. (1983) in Combustion Technology from Imperial College, London. She has worked as research associate at the Chair of Fluid Mechanics of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany (1983-1987). Her current interests focus on energy saving and storage in buildings combined with advanced energy systems and materials, combustion systems and processes and heterogeneous mixtures, fire engineering and compartment fires, multicriteria assessment and Life Cycle Analysis for techno-economic, social and environmental impact of energy systems. She has 250 publications in international journals and conferences. She has participated and coordinated 40 funded research projects. Prof. Founti was a member and chair of the E.C.’s External Advisory Board (1998-2006) for FP5 and FP6 for research on Materials, Products and Production Processes. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the European and Greek «Technological Platform for Research and Technology in Construction» and a member of the European Public-Private-Partnership «Energy Efficiency in Buildings». She served as a member of the Committee for Building Materials of the Ministry of Development (2009-2010) and external expert on energy saving issues of the Central Committee for Evaluation and Coordination of the “EXOIKONOMO” Program of the Ministry of Environment and Energy. She has served as chairman of the examination Committee of Building Energy Inspectors (2012-2014).

Christos Papageorgiou

Mr. Christos Papageorgiou serves as Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. Christos has served as a Director of the West Macedonia Lignite Center (WMLC) of Public Power Corporation S.A. (PPC S.A.) from Sep 2000 to Mar 2006. He then moved on to assume the position of the Director of the Project Team of Mines Development in WMLC, from Apr 2006 to Dec 2010. He was recruited in PPC S.A., in WMLC, in Jul 1979 as a Mining & Metallurgical Engineer, serving thus WMLC for 31 years in total. He was occupied with the opening, operation and development of the South Field Mine, which is the biggest lignite surface mine in the Balkans region and one of the biggest of this kind globally, for 21 years, out of which 14 as the South Field Mine Director (Sep 1986 – Aug 2000). During the period 2001 – 2005 of his service as the WMLC Director, the personnel of WMLC consisted of approximately 5150 employees. Moreover, during the same period, the biggest average annual total volume of excavations in history with the use of own (WMLC) equipment, the highest lignite production, as well as the biggest quantity of electricity produced from lignite by the 4 power plants of PPC in Ptolemaida – Amyntaio region, which covered 55.5% of the total electricity to the country’s linked grid was recorded. During his service in the WMLC lignite mines, Christos developed intense professional activity, characterized by the development, submission and implementation of technical suggestions for the solution of the problems related to the development and the formation of the overall mines’ excavations and exploitation strategy (MINE MASTER PLAN). He graduated from Valtadorio high school of Kozani (1971) and from the faculty of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (1971 – 1976). He is Member of the Audit Committee, and has been Member of the Remunerations Committee of the Company since June 27, 2017.

Frangiskos Topalis

Mr. Frangiskos V. Topalis has served as Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since September 26, 2017. Fragiskos is Mechanical-Electrical Engineer/Professor at the NTUA. Frangiskos V. Topalis, Dipl. Mechanical and Electrical Engineer from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), is Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA. He teaches the courses “Lighting Technology”, “Production of high voltages”, “Measurement and applications of high voltages”, Installations and networks” and “Quality assurance systems-Certification-Accreditation”. He is responsible of the activities of the Lighting Lab which are, mainly, the education of the students and the implementation of R&D projects in the area of lighting. He coordinates projects in the lighting sector, mainly: human vision, lighting design, photometric tests of lighting equipment, photometrics of roads and tunnels, rational use of energy in indoor and outdoor lighting installations, lighting control systems, imaging sensors for control of indoor lighting systems and for luminance measurements, power quality in lighting systems and quality assurance systems. He represents Greece in the organization LUX EUROPA and in the Balkan Lighting Committee.

Demetrios Vassilakis

Mr. Demetrios Vassilakis has served as Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation S.A. since January 9, 2017. Studied Mechanical Engineering (MSc) at the National Technical University of Athens. Postgraduate studies in Regional Development at the Regional Development Institute in Athens. Works in the Construction sector for more than 20 years and has been involved in the realization of many significant projects (Olympic Airways Hangar, Aesthetic Integration of the Athens Olympic Sports Center, Navarino Dunes / Costa Navarino, Olympia Odos) acting especially as design coordinator, estimator, procurement manager, contract administrator. Fluent in English, also speaks moderately French and Spanish.
