Biographies

Name Description

Sultan Bin Sulayem

H.E. Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem serves as Group Chairman of the Board & Group Chief Executive Officer at DP World Limited with effect from February 8, 2016. Prior to this, he served as Chairman of the Board of DP World Limited since May 30, 2007. With a career spanning three decades across a wide range of industries, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem brings a wealth of leadership experience to the Boardroom. In his previous role as Chairman of Dubai World, he established and led diverse businesses; including Nakheel, a real estate and tourism property development firm; and Istithmar World, a major global private equity investment house. He oversaw the rapid development of the Jebel Ali Free Zone into an unrivalled business park of more than 7,000 companies and pioneered the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. As Chairman of DP World, he has been at the forefront of the Company’s international expansion, including the $6.85 billion acquisition of P&O Group. Mr. Bin Sulayem holds a BS in Economics from Temple University, United States. Also he is Board member of the Dubai Executive Council, the Dubai Economic Council, Non-Executive Director of Hyperloop One. Member of the Nominations and Governance Committee.

Yuvraj Narayan

Mr. Yuvraj Narayan serves as Group Chief Financial Officer, Member of the Board, Executive Director at DP World Limited since August 9, 2006. He served as Chief Financial Officer since 2005 till August 9. 2006. Mr. Narayan has an extensive senior executive career with more than 23 years’ of experience in the ports and international banking sectors. Prior to joining DP World he held executive positions with ANZ Group, as Head of Corporate and Project Finance for South Asia, and Salalah Port Services in Oman, as Chief Financial Officer. He has also served as Non-Executive Director of Istithmar World PJSC and IDFC Securities. As Group Chief Financial Officer of DP World he has been instrumental in ensuring the success of a number of initiatives including the Group’s IPO in 2007. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is also Non-Executive Director on HDFC International Life and Re Company Limited.

Rashid Abdulla

Mr. Rashid Abdulla serves as CEO & MD Europe & Russia at DP World Limited. He was Senior Vice President and Managing Director - Asia Pacific region. He held the position of Senior Vice President Global Operations at DP World Head Office. He joined the company as a graduate trainee in 1995 and rose rapidly through the ranks. His first international assignment was in 2004, working as Terminal Manager at DP World Constanta in Romania. Upon his return to Dubai in 2007, he was promoted to Director of Jebel Ali’s brand new Terminal 2 and later was appointed as Director of Container Terminal 1. Rashid graduated from UAE University in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Geography. He earned a Diploma in Maritime and Port Management from the National University of Singapore in 2002.

Suhail Al Banna

Mr. Suhail Al Banna serves as CEO & MD Middle East and Africa Region at DP World Limited. He was Senior Vice President and Managing Director - Middle East and Africa since Nov, 2013, and Senior Vice President - Government Relations from 2008 to Nov, 2013 and he started as Acting Chief Information Officer until 2008. His previous assignment was as Senior Vice President, Government Relations and Global Corporate Responsibility. Suhail has over 10 years’ experience in the port industry, specialising in information technology and the opportunities the latest technology developments bring to the efficient management and control of ports and marine terminals. He has extensive international experience and is a member of the Board of Asian Terminals Incorporated (Philippines), a member of the Board of DP World Dakar in Senegal, and Chairs the Board of Tejari Solutions, a company specialising in e-commerce procurement. Between 2009 and 2012 he acted as interim CEO at sister company Tejari Fze LLC, where he introduced two new business lines - Tejari Solutions, a web based eSourcing service for business procurement and Tejuri.com to support Dubai retailers selling their merchandise online to consumers globally. Mr Al Banna is a graduate of San Diego State University, USA, and has also participated in the Kellogg Business School and Harvard Business School executive management programmers.

Mohammed Al Muallem

Mr. Mohammed Yousef Al Muallem serves as CEO and Managing Director - UAE Region at DP World Limited since Sep, 2005 before he was Senior Vice President and Managing Director - UAE Region. Mr Al Muallem joined Port Rashid in 1983 as a trainee and progressed through various positions including Planning Engineer and Assistant Port Engineer Manager. In 1991 he was appointed Senior Technical Manager when Dubai Ports Authority was created through the merger of Port Rashid and Jebel Ali Port. Other positions included Deputy Technical Director, Technical Director, Chief Technical Director and in 2003 Executive Director, Technical and Technology. Mr Al Muallem was appointed Chairman of the Executive Merging Team of Dubai Ports Authority, Dubai Customs and the Free Zone in 2000 and in May 2004 became Executive Coordinator for the Terminal 2 development at Jebel Ali Port. Mr Al Muallem holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Portland, Oregon, USA and has completed extensive training in the UK at the University of Manchester, Cranfield College and British Airways.

Paul Scurrah

Mr. Paul Scurrah seves as CEO & MD Australia and New Zealand Region at DP World Limited. He was Senior Vice President and Managing Director - Australia & New Zealand. He joined DP World Australia as CEO and Managing Director from rail freight company Aurizon, where he was Executive Vice President – Commercial and Marketing. Upon joining Aurizon in February 2012, Paul was credited with building the commercial and marketing function from the ground up, ensuring the business remained focussed on its customers after it transitioned from a government owned corporation to a publicly listed company. Paul drove his team to win all openly tendered contracts during his tenure, despite residual customer angst resulting from the privatization of QR National (Aurizon). Prior to Aurizon, Paul was CEO at Queensland Rail where he was credited with transforming the safety, customer service and operational performance of the company on its suburban, long distance and freight networks. He led the company through its demerger from QR Network (now Aurizon) and also through the major flood events that devastated Queensland in 2011. Paul started his career in the airline industry with Australian Airlines and Qantas and went on to hold a number of senior roles at American Express, Ansett (GM Customer Support), Tourism Queensland (EGM) and Flight Centre (Global EGM – Strategy, Product, Marketing) prior to his move into transport and logistics. He has forged a career around customer service excellence and in 2011 was awarded the CEO of the Year Award (Public Sector) by the Customer Service Institute of Australia. He also won the Professional Manager of the Year Award at the AIM QLD/NT Awards in 2009. Paul holds qualifications from Harvard Business School and William Angliss College.

Rizwan Soomar

Mr. Rizwan Soomar serves as CEO & MD Subcontinent Region at DP World Limited. Mr. Rizwan Soomar is an accomplished leader with a career spanning over two decades in the logistics sector. Before joining DP World as head of the Subcontinent Region he held a number of senior roles across the various businesses of the AP Moller Maersk Group, based in diverse locations across Asia, Africa, Europe and India. Rizwan holds an MBA from the Chicago Booth School of Business and a Diploma from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS), London. He has also participated in executive management programmes at INSEAD, Fontainebleau and IMD, Lausanne.

Matthew Leech

Mr. Matthew Leech serves as Chief Operating Officer - Ports & Terminals Division at DP World Limited since 2017. He was Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Americas at DP World Limited since July 2009 till 2017. He served as Senior Vice President, Business Development, for DP World Limited till July 2009. He has over 25 years of experience in the finance and container transportation industries. Prior to the acquisition of CSX World Terminals by DP World, Mr. Leech served in a similar role as Vice President, Operations and Development. Mr. Leech also held the position of Director, Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Development and the position of Director, Project Analysis for CSX World Terminals. Mr. Leech joined Sea-Land Service in 1995 and held various geographic positions in the Strategic Planning group focusing on network planning, alliance management and business analysis. Prior to joining Sea-Land, he held positions at the commercial real estate group of a financial institution based in Washington, DC. Mr. Leech holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA with a finance focus from the University of Maryland.

Adnan Al Abbar

Mr. Adnan Al Abbar serves SVP Group Planning & Project Management at DP World Limited. He leads the planning and infrastructure development activities for DP World globally. Mr Al Abbar has over 15 years' experience in the port and container terminal industry. He joined DP World in 1991 and has held diverse roles such as Assistant Container Terminal Manager, Container Terminal Manager, Development Manager, Director of Port Planning & Information Systems and Chief Operating Officer. During his career, Mr Al Abbar has led several projects relating to master planning, IT development, process re-engineering and operations development. He is a graduate from Central Michigan University, USA with a degree in Industrial Supervision and Management.

Maha Al Qattan

Ms. Maha Al Qattan serves as SVP People at DP World Limited. She is responsible for leading the company People department across DP World’s global trade portfolio consisting of over 36,000 people from 103 countries, in six continents. Maha’s role is integral to contributing to the growth and sustainability of DP World through its people. She works closely with all business functions to ensure global and local People teams develop and implement smart, strategic and operational solutions in areas including leadership growth, reward, organisation effectiveness, culture, diversity and inclusion, learning and development. Prior to joining DP World, Maha worked at General Electric (GE), where she was the Regional HR Business Partner and Alstom Integration Leader for the Power Services Business, covering Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining GE, she worked at Nakheel and United Holdings in various HR leadership roles. Maha has completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and a Masters in Industrial and Labour Relations from Cornell University, USA.

Ganesh Raj

Mr. Ganesh Raj serves as Senior Vice President Special Projects at DP World Limited. Before he was Senior Vice President & Managing Director - Europe and Russia Region since Jan, 2014. He has over 30 years of experience in the Maritime industry. In 1988 as Head of Port Planning with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in India, Ganesh moved to the AP Møller Group in 1990 as Terminal Manager - Nhava Sheva and, over a period of 10 years, he was responsible for complete Operations & Intermodal in the Subcontinent. In 2001, he was appointed as CEO of India’s first brownfield port privatisation concession in Chennai, owned by P&O Ports. Under his leadership the facility went live the same year, progressing in performance levels and throughput in excess of 50% within a two-year period. In 2004, Ganesh joined DP World as the Regional Head for Middle East & East Africa, and has, since then, moved strategically across the Group in Senior Management positions. Following the acquisition of P&OSNCo by DP World in 2006, Ganesh was appointed Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Subcontinent Region. He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and also holds a degree in Port Management. He was an integral to monetization of non-core assets, and implementation of the strategic partnership with CII (Citi Infrastructure Investors) at the end of 2010, which saw the formation of DP World Australia. In 2014, he was appointed as the Regional Head of European Operations in 19 Locations. He was instrumental in delivering and commercializing 5 million TEUs in additional Port Capacity in the UK, Turkey and the Netherlands. Under his leadership the region doubled its volume and revenue and tripled its net earnings. His return to Head office, marks the emphasis on DP World’s next growth phase in playing a broader role within the wider freight supply chain.

Daniel Van Otterdijk

Mr. Daniel Van Otterdijk serves as SVP Group Communications at DP World Limited. He is accountable for building and delivering the Group’s communication and brand strategies; managing our stakeholder communications across the DP World Group and across all communications disciplines. Daniel also advises DP World’s Group Chairman and CEO, as well as the global leadership team, on all communications and brand-related matters. Daniel is a seasoned communications specialist with a wealth of international experience spanning over 20 years across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia. He has worked in various markets and industries including Energy, Oil and Gas, Medical, Retail and Technology. Prior to joining DP World, Daniel worked for Royal Dutch Shell for 17 years as a communications specialist, advising on corporate brand-building, reputation management and internal and external communications. He has served as Non-Executive Director in the Communications industry. Daniel is a graduate from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. He is a Dutch national, but has spent 12 years in New Zealand and 18 years in the UK.

Raj Wallia

Mr. Raj Jit Singh Wallia serves as Deputy CFO & SVP Corporate Finance and Business Development at DP World Limited. He has global responsibility for the company’s Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury and Insurance activities. A former banker and restructuring professional, he has a range of international experience across functions, markets, products and the maritime sector. Before joining DP World, Raj Jit worked for DP World’s parent company Dubai World as Group Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury. He was hired to lead the group’s financial restructuring in 2009 and played a key role in the overall restructuring of Dubai World and its subsidiaries. As a banker he was a Managing Director with Deutsche Bank in Singapore where he headed the Asian High Yield and Leverage Loans origination business. Prior to that, Raj Jit was a Managing Director with ING’s Leverage Finance and Sponsor Coverage Group in London with specific responsibility for Central and Eastern European countries. During his banking career he has been involved in various credit origination, credit structuring, coverage, strategy and management roles. Raj Jit holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Ira A Fulton School of Engineering and Applied Science at the Arizona State University.

Mohammed Al Hashimy

Redwan Ahmed

Mr. Redwan Ahmed serves as head of Investor relations at DP World Limited. Previously, he was sell-side equity analyst for 13 years which includes eight years in London covering mostly large-cap UK media companies. More recently at EFG HERMES, a regional Investment Bank, he covered sectors such as media, shipping and transportation, logistics and infrastructure (including DP World). Mr. Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Investment from Cass Business School, City University London.

Joanne Traice

Ms. Joanne Traice serves as SVP Group Internal Audit at DP World Limited. She joined the Group in 2007. She is responsible for leading Internal Audit, Anti-Fraud and Enterprise Risk Management services, working closely alongside the global leadership team to develop strong governance across the company’s global portfolio. Joanne has over 20 years of experience in these fields across Europe, Middle East & Africa, Americas and Asia Pacific. Before joining DP World, Joanne worked for PwC Yorkshire in the UK for nine years, handling assurance services and providing audit support to numerous multinational companies. A graduate from Leeds University in the UK and a Fellow Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), Joanne is also an authorised Training Principal for the ICAEW ACA and was awarded the Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership from the Institute of Internal Auditors in 2014.

Mohammed Al Suwaidi

Mr. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi is Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board at DP World Limited since April 28, 2016. Mr. Mohammed has extensive experience working across a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, banking and construction. He holds a number of Executive and Non- Executive positions across the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Al Suwaidi holds a BSc in Business Administration from California Baptist University 1992. Abdullah Ghobash

Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Said Ghobash serves as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board at DP World Limited since April 28, 2016. Mr. Ghobash has over 30 years’ experience in the international finance and banking industry. He has served on various boards in the region, including Etisalat, Borse Dubai, Nasdaq Dubai and Emaar. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UAE University, Executive Management Program from Wharton Business School and banking diploma from Citibank NA in Athens, Greece. Mrs Kamali has over 23 years’ experience in information technology, IT governance, compliance and risk management. She has held senior executive positions at Dubai Aluminium Company and Dubai Customs. Mrs. Kamali holds an MBA from American University of Sharjah, a BS Degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Deepak Parekh

Mr. Deepak S. Parekh was appointed as Senior Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board at DP World Limited since July 1, 2015. He was appointed to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on March 22, 2011. Mr. Parekh has an extensive and highlycommended executive career, including serving on the Boards of several Indian and international corporations. He has been a member of Indian Government-appointed advisory committees and task forces on matters ranging from infrastructure reform to capital markets and financial services. His contributions to business have been recognised on numerous occasions and he was the first international recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, in 2010. Mr. Robert Barclay Woods has been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board at DP World Limited since Jan, 1, 2014. Mr Woods has over 40 years’ experience in the shipping and port industry. He was formerly the Chief Executive of The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company, and a Non-Executive Director of Cathay Pacific Airways, Tilbury Container Services Limited and John Swire & Sons.
