Name Description

Lynn Fuller

Mr. Lynn B. Fuller is the Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of HEARTLAND FINANCIAL USA, INC. He was President of Heartland from 1987 to 2015. Mr. Fuller has been a Director of Wisconsin Bank & Trust since 1997, New Mexico Bank & Trust since 1998, Arizona Bank & Trust since 2003, Centennial Bank and Trust since 2006, Minnesota Bank & Trust since 2008, Heritage Bank, N.A. from 2012 until its merger with Arizona Bank & Trust in 2013 and Morrill & Janes Bank and Trust Company since January 2014. In 2015, he was named Director of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Insurance Services. He was a Director of Galena State Bank & Trust Co. from 1992 to 2004 and of Illinois Bank & Trust from 1995 until 2004. Mr. Fuller joined Dubuque Bank and Trust Company in 1971 as a consumer loan officer and was named Dubuque Bank and Trust Company's Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer in 1985. Mr. Fuller was President of Dubuque Bank and Trust Company from 1987 until 1999 at which time he was named Chief Executive Officer of Heartland. Mr. Fuller is the brother-in-law of Mr. James F. Conlan, who is a director of Heartland.

Bruce Lee

Mr. Bruce K. Lee is the President of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Mr. Lee was named a Director of Rocky Mountain Bank and Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Insurance Services in 2015. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Lee held various leadership positions at Fifth Third Bancorp from 2001 to 2013, serving most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer from 2011 to 2013. Mr. Lee previously served as President and CEO of a Fifth Third affiliate bank in Ohio where he managed sales and service functions for retail, commercial, residential mortgage, and investments as well as finance, human resources, and marketing. Prior to Fifth Third, Mr. Lee served as an Executive Vice President and board member for Capital Bank, a community bank located in Sylvania, Ohio.

Mark Falb

Mr. Mark C. Falb is Independent Vice Chairman of the Board of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Mr. Falb has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Heartland and Chairman of the Audit/Corporate Governance Committee of Heartland since 2001, and served as Chairman of the Compensation/Nominating Committee of Heartland from 2001 to 2015. He has been Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company, a publisher of textbooks for the Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade market and the higher education market, since 1992. He has been Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Westmark Enterprises, Inc., a real estate development company, since 1993. A CPA (inactive), Mr. Falb brings to our Board considerable experience in executive management of nationally-based organizations and experience in finance and financial accounting. Mr. Falb has significant community contacts and is considered a leader in our primary market of Dubuque, Iowa and the Tri-State area of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Janet Quick

Ms. Janet Quick is Executive Vice President, Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Principal Accounting Officer of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Ms. Quick had served as Senior Vice President, Deputy Chief Financial Officer since July 2013. Ms. Quick has been with Heartland since 1994, serving in various audit, finance and accounting positions. Prior to joining Heartland, Ms. Quick was with Hawkeye Bancorporation in the corporate finance area. She is an active holder of the certified public accountant certification.

Bryan McKeag

Mr. Bryan R. McKeag is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Mr. McKeag was named Director of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Insurance Services in 2015. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. McKeag served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer with Associated Banc-Corp in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Prior to Associated Banc-Corp, Mr. McKeag spent 9 years in various finance positions at JP Morgan and 9 years in public accounting at KPMG in Minneapolis. He is an inactive holder of the certified public accountant certification.

Deborah Deters

Ms. Deborah Deters is Chief Human Resource Officer, Executive Vice President of the Company. Deters, who most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at HUB International, LTD, brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to Heartland. While at HUB she was named the organization's first CHRO and transformed its HR function and improved employee engagement while supporting over 35 acquisitions annually.

Laura Hughes

Mr. Laura J. Hughes is Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of the company. He joins Heartland with over 20 years of experience in marketing strategy, branding, public relations and digital communications in the financial services industry. Most recently, Hughes served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Church Mutual Insurance Company, a leading property and casualty specialty insurer based in Wausau, Wisconsin. Hughes has also led Digital Marketing for the Commercial Banking Division of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and has served as Vice President of Marketing for the Federal Reserve System.

Rodney Sloan

Mr. Rodney L. Sloan is Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Mr. Sloan was named Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer in August 2011. Mr. Sloan previously served as Senior Vice President, Credit Administration of Heartland since January 2011. Prior to joining Heartland, he served in various roles with Old Second Bancorp in Aurora, Illinois from 1990 to 2011. Mr. Sloan oversees all facets of the enterprise-wide risk management program and provides executive leadership to the internal audit, compliance, and loan review functions at Heartland.

Michael Coyle

Mr. Michael J. Coyle is Executive Vice President, Senior General Counsel, Corporate Secretary Of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. In 2015, Mr. Coyle was named Secretary of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Insurance Services. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Coyle was an attorney with the Dubuque, Iowa based law firm of Fuerste, Carew, Coyle, Juergens & Sudmeier, P.C. for 38 years, including 35 years as a senior partner. He has extensive experience in corporate and contract law.

Frank Walter

Mr. Frank E. Walter is the Executive Vice President - Commercial Sales of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Mr. Walter joined Heartland in 2009 as Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Walter was the Rockford Regional President of JP Morgan Chase in Rockford, Illinois for five years. Mr. Walter was President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank One/Rockford from 1993 until Bank One's merger with JP Morgan Chase in 2004. Prior to joining Bank One/Rockford, he served as CEO of Bank One/Chicago from 1987 to 1993 and held various management positions at Wells Fargo for the 16 years prior to joining Bank One/Chicago. Mr. Walter is responsible for commercial sales at Heartland.

Mark Murtha

Mr. Mark G. Murtha is Executive Vice President - Human Resources, Organizational Development of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Murtha was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Enterprise Bank & Trust in St. Louis, Missouri from 2002 to 2013. Mr. Murtha is responsible for all human resources functions including recruiting, organizational development, performance management and training.

Steven Braden

Mr. Steven M. Braden is Executive Vice President - Director of Retail Banking of the Company. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Braden was the Executive Director for Community Banking and Senior Consultant for Strategic Direction for Ningbo Donghai Bank in Zhejiang Province, Ningbo, China where he was responsible for developing and overseeing the bank's new community bank division. Mr. Braden also previously served as Executive Vice President, Regional Executive of Umpqua Bank in Portland, Oregon. He also held senior management positions at US Bank and First Bank System.

Brian Fox

Mr. Brian J. Fox is Executive Vice President - Operations of Heartland Financial USA Inc. Mr. Fox joined Heartland in 2010 as Executive Vice President, Operations. From 2008 until joining Heartland, Mr. Fox served as Chief Information Officer of First Olathe Bancshares in Overland Park, Kansas. One year after joining First Olathe Bancshares, he was asked to help its principal subsidiary, First National Bank of Olathe, comply with a formal agreement it had entered with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (the "OCC") and served as its Chief Risk Officer. In October 2011, First National Bank of Olathe was placed in receivership by the OCC. For the eight years prior to joining First Olathe Bancshares, Mr. Fox drew on his 30 years experience at various banking organizations to provide consulting services to over 100 community banks as Senior Consultant at Vitex, Inc. His areas of responsibility have included strategic planning, credit administration, loan workouts, information technology, project management, mortgage banking, deposit operations and loan operations.

Kelly Johnson

Mr. Kelly J. Johnson is Executive Vice President, Private Client Services of the Company. He joined Heartland in 2014 as Executive Vice President, Private Client Services. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Johnson served as Executive Vice President of Wealth Management at Umpqua Holdings in Portland, Oregon, where he developed and led the wealth management divisions of Private Banking, Trust Services, Wealth Planning, and Investment Services. Mr. Johnson has also held executive positions with RBC Wealth Management and UBS Wealth Management.

Andrew Townsend

Mr. Andrew E. Townsend is Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of the Company. Mr. Townsend joined Dubuque Bank and Trust Company in 1993 as a Loan Review Officer and was selected to join Galena State Bank as Executive Vice President, Head of Lending in 1996. In 2003, Mr. Townsend assumed the position of President and CEO of Galena State Bank and joined the bank's board of directors. He was named Deputy Chief Credit Officer of Heartland in 2013. Prior to joining Heartland, he worked at Bank One in the loan review area and had also been an examiner for the Iowa Division of Banking.

Kurt Saylor

Mr. Kurt M. Saylor is Director of the Company. Mr. Saylor retired in December 2016 from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Morrill & Janes Bank and Trust Company, a Heartland subsidiary bank. He had served in that role since 2002. He began his banking career as an examiner with the Office of State Bank Commissioner in Kansas after graduating from college. He joined Morrill & Janes Bank and Trust Company in 1975. During his tenure with Morrill & Janes Bank and Trust Company, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Century Capital Financial (City National Bank) in Kilgore, Texas, from 1997 to 2008 and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FBC Financial Corp (1st Bank Oklahoma) in Claremore, Oklahoma, from 1998 to 2011. Mr. Saylor brings to our Board community bank leadership experience and familiarity with operating under a multi-bank holding company structure. In addition, he has community knowledge and perspective with respect to the Kansas City metropolitan area.

John Cox

Mr. John W. Cox, Jr., is Independent Director of Heartland Financial USA Inc. Mr. Cox was the Vice President of External Affairs and General Counsel for Jo-Carroll Energy, Inc. (NFP) from 2007 until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Cox was a practicing attorney in Galena, Illinois for over 35 years prior to joining Jo-Carroll Energy, Inc. Mr. Cox is also a former Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the 16th District of the State of Illinois. During his term in the U.S. Congress, Mr. Cox served on the House Banking and Finance Committees. Mr. Cox also served as City Attorney for the City of Galena, Illinois during his years of private practice. Mr. Cox brings to our Board extensive knowledge of government relations and policy, banking and financial law and governance, and contacts with community leaders in the markets we serve in Northern Illinois, Eastern Iowa and Southwestern Wisconsin.

Thomas Flynn

Mr. Thomas L. Flynn is an Independent Director of Heartland Financial USA, Inc. Mr. Flynn, who has also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Heartland since 2005 and Chairman of the Compensation/Nominating Committee of Heartland since 2015, was President of Aggregate Materials Company located in East Dubuque, Illinois from 1999 until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Flynn was President and Chief Executive Officer of Flynn Ready-Mix Concrete Co. from 1999 until his retirement in 2012. He was Chief Financial Officer of Flynn Ready-Mix from 1977 until 1999. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Ready-Mix Concrete Association. Mr. Flynn is a former member of the Iowa Legislature, having served for eight years as a State Senator. He also served for ten years as an adjunct faculty member in the Business Department of a local liberal arts college teaching courses in finance and business research methods. Mr. Flynn brings to our Board considerable small business expertise, business contacts in one of our principal markets and skill in governance.

R. Michael McCoy

Mr. R. Michael McCoy is Independent Director of the Company. Mr. McCoy has been the President of the McCoy Group, Inc., a full-service commercial truck leasing, rental and contract maintenance company, since 1993. Mr. McCoy brings Heartland not only significant experience in the operation of a business headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa, but significant business contacts in central Iowa and Wisconsin markets from which a significant portion of small business loans we originate are sourced.

John Schmidt

Mr. John K. Schmidt is Independent Director of Heartland Financial USA Inc. Mr. Schmidt has been the Chief Financial Officer of A.Y. McDonald Industries since 2013 and was named Corporate Secretary in 2014. Mr. Schmidt was the Chief Operating Officer (from 2004) and Chief Financial Officer (from 1991) of Heartland until joining A.Y. McDonald Industries. Mr. Schmidt was also an officer of Dubuque Bank and Trust Company from 1984 to 2004 and President from 1999 to 2004. Prior to joining Dubuque Bank and Trust Company in 1984, Mr. Schmidt was employed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and Peat Marwick Mitchell, currently known as KPMG LLP. A CPA (inactive), Mr. Schmidt brings to our Board extensive knowledge in operational bank management and accounting.

Duane White

Mr. Duane E. White is Independent Director of Heartland Financial USA, Inc., with effect from May 23, 2013. Mr. White has been a partner at Aveus, a management consulting firm in St. Paul, Minnesota since 2013. Prior to joining Aveus, Mr. White was an independent consultant for six years. Mr. White also has over nine years of banking experience with U.S. Bancorp, including as President of the mortgage division for three years, Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for two years, Senior Vice President of Marketing Support and Product Management, and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. He began his career as an examiner for the OCC and was also involved with the regulatory supervision of problem banks in his role as the Assistant to the Regional Director of Special Projects. Mr. White brings considerable expertise in financial services to our Board, including merger and acquisition activity, as well as community knowledge and perspective with respect to Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
