Name Description

Ngeny Biwott

Mr. Ngeny Biwott has served as Group Non-Executive Independent Chairman of KCB Group Plc since August 2013. He served as Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company between June 15, 2011 and August 2013. During his tenure he has served as the Chairman of the Human Resources Committee, Director of KCB Bank Tanzania, and has previously sat in the Audit, Risk, Procurement, Information Technology and Strategy Committees. He has over 39 years work experience in the aviation industry and holds an MSc Degree in Civil Emergency, Risk and Crisis Management from University of Hertfordshire. In addition, he has Specialized Certification in Risk and Strategy from Cranfield, Southern California and Larkley universities as well as NASA Research Centre College.

Joshua Oigara

Mr. Joshua Nyamweya Oigara has served as Group Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Executive Director, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc since January 1, 2013. He served as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director, Member of the Executive Committee of the Company between January 12, 2012 and January 1, 2013. He also serves as Group Chief Financial Officer at KCB Bank Group for East Africa. He joined the Bank in November 2011 from Bamburi Cement Ltd where he served as Executive Director and Group Financial Director and Chief Financial Officer for the East Africa region. He was also Group Controller, Finance at Bamburi Cement Group for East Africa, a function he held between 2006 and 2008. From 2004 to 2005, he served as Manager, Business Performance at Hima Cement Ltd, a function he assumed after his service at Bidco Oil Ltd as Group Business Performance Manager for the period between 2002 and 2003. From 1999 to 2001, he was Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nairobi, Kenya. In 1997, he became Associate of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nairobi, Kenya, a post he held until 1998. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a title he obtained from the School of Accountancy, the Strathmore University, Kenya in 1997 and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He obtained a Masters of Business Administration degree in International Business Management from the Edith Cowan University in Australia in 2011. He also completed the Advanced Management Program from INSEAD or Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires, France in 2010. He completed the Program for Management Development at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina, the United States in 2006. Prior to this, he received a degree in Accounting from the Strathmore University in 1997. He is Member of the Risk Management Committee, Member of the Finance & Strategy Committee, Member of the HR & Nomination Committee, and Member of the IT & Innovation Committee of the Company.

Lawrence Kiambi

Mr. Lawrence Kimathi Kiambi has served as Group Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc since May 5, 2015. Until May 5, 2015, he served as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Kiambi has over 15 years progressive experience in Finance at senior and executive levels across many countries in various organizations. He joined the Bank in May 2015. Mr. Kiambi’s immediate posting was East African Breweries Limited (EABL) where he was the Group Supply Finance Director, responsible for 10 legal entities across 6 countries. He previously worked at AIG Property and Casualty (General Insurance) as the Chief Finance Officer. Prior to that he worked at British American Tobacco (BAT) Ltd (United Kingdom & Kenya) in various senior capacities. He has also worked at Cadbury LTD East & Central Africa, Kenya as the Finance and IT Director. He holds a Bachelor of Science-Accounting, from the United States International University Africa (USIU) and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. He is Permanent Attendee of the Finance & Strategy Committee of the Company.

Samuel Makome

Mr. Samuel Makome serves as Group Chief Operating Officer, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc. Samuel is KCB Chief Business Officer and MD Kenya. He has over 20 years experience in Banking Institutions and 10 years in executive management in strategic leadership and business development. Prior to joining KCB, he was the Managing Director, Equity Bank Tanzania. Other previously held roles include: General Manager, Equity Bank Limited; Executive Director, Bank of Africa (BOA), Uganda and Regional Head, Consumer Banking Operations for Africa, Standard Chartered Bank. He holds a Masters in Organizational Leadership from the International Leadership University of UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership, Nairobi, Kenya a BSc in Engineering from the University of Nairobi and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London, UK (ACIB).

John Mukulu

Mr. John Mukulu has served as Chief Risk Officer, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc since August 18, 2017. John joined KCB in 1990 as a management trainee and has served in various roles including Head of Portfolio Management and Senior Credit Analyst. Prior to his current appointment in August 18th 2017 as the KCB Group Chief Risk Officer, John was the Acting Chief Risk Officer and previously the Head of Lending Risk Acting Director - Risk. He is a graduate of Economics from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi and BA in Banking and Finance, University of Sunderland. In his current position, John is responsible for coordinating the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management framework and ensuring full compliance with applicable regulation.

Henry Rotich

Mr. Henry Kiplagat Rotich, EGH, serves as Non-Executive Director & Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury of KCB Group Plc. Prior to this appointment, He started serving as Member of the Board of Directors of the Company on September 24, 2014. Rotich was the Head of Macroeconomics at the Treasury, Ministry of Finance, since March 2006. Under this capacity he was involved in formulation of macroeconomic policies that ensured an affordable and sustainable path of public spending aimed at achieving the Government's development priorities. In addition, he was also involved in preparation of key budget documents including the Budget Statements, as well as providing strategic coordination of structural reforms in the area of fiscal and financial sector. Prior to joining the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Rotich worked at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Kenya since 1994. Between, 2001-2004, he was attached to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) local office in Nairobi to work as an economist. Mr. Rotich was also a Director on several Boards of State Corporations, including: Insurance Regulatory Board; Industrial Development Bank; Communication Commission of Kenya; and Kenya National Bureau of Statistics. Mr. Rotich holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University. He also holds Master’s Degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (First Class Honors), both from University of Nairobi.

Paul Russo

Mr. Paul Russo serves as Group Human Resource Director, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc. He sits in KCB Group Board HR Committee and KCB Group Board Audit Committee. He is a Board Member of KCB Uganda Limited. Paul has progressive Senior and Executive Leadership experience with extensive involvement in enterprise service delivery, organizational design, human capital optimization, employee relations, people transformation and change. He has held national and regional roles in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Africa Regional Management Offices. He has worked for Barclays, PricewaterhouseCoopers, K-Rep Bank, Unga Holdings Limited and East African Breweries Limited. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts (Business Management) (Hons) from Moi University, Kenya; a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from Institute of Human Resource Management, Kenya; and an MBA from Strathmore Business School, Strathmore University, Kenya. Paul was named Top 100 Global HRD at 2015 World HRD Congress held in Mumbai, India. He was also named 13th in 2012’s ‘Top40Under40’ by the Business Daily, in Kenya, in a business survey that aims to recognize young corporate professionals making impact in the corporate world, their communities and most importantly those to watch out in future leadership. Paul volunteers as a Trustee at SOS CV Kenya and Friends of Lake Turkana (a community based Trust whose mission is to foster social, economic and environmental justice in the Lake Turkana Basin).

Jane Mwangi

Mrs. Jane S. Mwangi has served as Executive Director KCB Foundation, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc since July 2015. She is an employee of the KCB Group Limited and serves in the board of KCB Foundation as a trustee. Jane Mwangi is passionate about designing development solutions that work. She has experience spanning over 30 years in the International development giving her a unique edge to identify and steer ideas from concept to reality. She previously worked with the USAID Mission in different capacities serving the East and Southern African region. She designed programs that built alliances between the US Government and Private Sector for the purpose of accelerating and sustaining development. Jane is a multiple graduate of the United States International University-Africa. She holds an MBA in Finance with a minor in Strategic Management and a BSC (Cum laude) in Accounting.

Joseph Kania

Mr. Joseph Kania has served as Group Company Secretary, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc since June 2013. He joined the Bank in June 2013 with over 25 years’ experience as an advocate of the High Court and 10 years’ experience as a Company Secretary. He joins the Bank from Housing Finance Company of Kenya where he was the Company Secretary. Other roles previously held include: - Senior Legal Officer at Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation and Legal Officer at Senator Cards/Southern Credit Corporation. He holds an LLB from University of Nairobi and is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is a Notary Public, Commissioner of Oaths as well as a CPS (K) Certified Public Secretary of Kenya and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Judith Odhiambo

Ms. Judith Sidi Odhiambo serves as Group Head Corporate & Regulatory Affairs, Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc. She joined the Bank in 2006 as the Corporate Communications Manager and is the current Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs. She leads the reputation management and strategic communication of the Bank having served in similar roles in the water and transport sectors. She has over 20 years’ experience in public relations, strategic communication, media relations, stakeholder engagements, sustainability and events management. She holds a Masters in International Relations from United States International University (USIU), Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Daystar University and a Diploma in Journalism from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. She is a Board member of KCB Insurance Agency and represents the Bank in industry-related forums among them Kenya Bankers Association.

Apollo Ongara

Mr. Apollo Ongara serves as Director, Credit; Member of the Executive Committee of KCB Group Plc. He joined KCB Group in 2012 as the Head of Credit in Tanzania and is currently serving as the Director Credit for KCB Group based in Kenya. He is a graduate of Economics and Business Studies from Kenyatta University Nairobi, and Associate Chartered Institute of Bankers [ACIB] London. He started his career as management trainee Barclays Bank Kenya, and has played Relationship Management, Credit and Risk Management roles in ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Kenya, Citigroup N.A. Kenya, Commercial Bank of Africa Kenya, Barclays Bank Ghana and Family Bank Kenya.

Andrew Kairu

Mr. Andrew Wambari Kairu has served as Non-Executive Director of KCB Group Plc since June 19, 2018. He served as Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company until 2016. Andrew Wambari Kairu is a seasoned career banker spanning a period of over 30 years with extensive experience in corporate, institutional and investment banking. He also has a keen interest in corporate governance. Prior to his appointment as a Non-Executive Independent Director, Andrew was a Director and Chief Operating Officer at Ghana International Bank PLC, a London based and regulated commercial bank majority owned by the Central Bank of Ghana. He also worked for Citibank Kenya, Citibank Africa Regional Office and Citibank London in various and diverse senior management positions. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Nairobi. He has also attended executive programs in Executive Development at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and in Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School, Harvard University.

Josephine Djirackor

Mrs. Josephine Tata Djirackor has served as Non-Executive Independent Director of KCB Group Plc since January 3, 2018. Josephine Djirackor has over 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and holds an MSc (Hons) Degree in Radio Communication Engineering from Saint-Petersburg State University, Russia. In 2017 she participated in a Global Solutions Program and obtained specialized certification in the use of exponential technology to solve global challenges from Singularity University NASA Ames Research Centre San Francisco. She is also a member of the KCB Capital Limited and KCB Insurance Limited Boards. Josephine currently serves in the Board of the Global Mentors Network (GMN) as the Vice Chairperson. Josephine is a member of the Audit, IT & Innovation, HR & Nominations and Finance & Strategy committees.

Adil Khawaja

Mr. Adil Arshed Khawaja has served as Non-Executive Independent Director of KCB Group Plc since June 14, 2012. Adil Khawaja is a lawyer by profession with vast experience of 17 years in practice. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sheffield England and a diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is Certified Public Secretary (CPS). He is also a Member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). He is a Partner of the law firm Hamilton Harrison and Mathews. He is the Chairman of the Bank’s Group Risk Committee and a Director of the KCB Bank Tanzania. He also serves as a Trustee of Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS). He is Member of the IT & Innovation Committee, and Chairman of the Finance & Strategy Committee of the Company.

Georgina Malombe

Mrs. Georgina M. Malombe has served as Non-Executive Independent Director of KCB Group Plc since June 16, 2014. She holds a B Sc Agribusiness Management from Egerton University and an MBA Finance from the University of Nairobi. She is a certified public accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, a member of Professional Trainers Association of Kenya and Association of Women Accountants of Kenya. She has over 13 years’ experience in Auditing, Financial reporting and general management of Institutions. Georgina has previously worked as an Auditor at Kibiego Kiptum and Company, Manager at NGP Bamburi Sacco Limited and Executive Officer at Registration of Accountants Board. She currently works for the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya where she has previously headed the licensing department, audit quality assurance department and currently serving in the Public Policy and Governance department. For the last four years, she is a FiRe Award Evaluator, an award that promotes excellence in financial reporting which is jointly promoted by Capital Markets Authority, Nairobi Securities Exchange and Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. She has previously served on a delegated capacity as the Secretary to the Registration and Quality Committee of ICPAK. Currently she is the Secretary to Public Finance and Tax Subcommittee of ICPAK and also sits in a task force that reviews accounting Syllabus of Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board. She is a board member of KCB South Sudan. She is Member of the Risk Management Committee, Chairman of the Audit Committee, Member of the IT & Innovation Committee, and Member of the Supply Chain Committee of the Company.

John Nyerere

Mr. John Okoth A. Nyerere has served as Non-Executive Independent Director of KCB Group Plc since June 13, 2014. He has over 28 years (17 years in Transport Management, 17 years lecturing at University level and 11 years Organizational Development consulting and undertaking research in diverse sectors that include Finance, Health. and Utilities development. He is a holder of an MBA Degree and a Fulbright (HHH) fellow of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA. Additionally he is a qualified ISO 9000:2008 Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor and has served in the Technical Support team of KIM’s OPI Excellence Model and also among few HRH WHO Afro health systems strengthening resource persons in Africa focusing on strategic planning. He is currently a serving Board member of Hashi Energy (K) limited where he chairs the HR committee. He is Member of the Risk Management Committee, Member of the Audit Committee, Member of the Finance & Strategy Committee, Member of the HR & Nomination Committee, and Chairman of the Supply Chain Committee of the Company.

Thomas Omonya Ipomai

Mr. Thomas Denis (Tom) Omonya Ipomai has served as Non-Executive Independent Director of KCB Group Plc since June 2012. He has experience in Corporate Finance, and graduated with a degree in Computer Science at the University of Nairobi. Tom later did postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge (Jesus College) as a Commonwealth Scholar studying for a Master of Philosophy (M Phil) in Management Studies. Tom eventually wrote his Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) examinations completing them in two years and all by home study. Tom has previously worked in the Central Bank of Kenya, Barclays Bank in UK, Kenya and Zambia and Deloitte’s corporate finance advisory division. Tom currently works as the Chief Executive Officer of Ler Ltd, a real-estate focused investment company. He is Chairman of the HR & Nomination Committee, Chairman of the IT & Innovation Committee, and Member of the Supply Chain Committee of the Company.
