Name Description

Richard Boehne

Mr. Richard A. Boehne is re-designated as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of the Company effective on August 7, 2017. Mr. Boehne served as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer since 2013. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since July 2008. Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from April 2006 to June 2008. Executive Vice President from February 1999 until June 2008. Mr. Boehne is a director of the Associated Press (an independent newsgathering organization) and Northern Kentucky University (a public, co-educational university).

Adam Symson

Mr. Adam P. Symson has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer of the Company effective on August 8, 2017. He was Senior Vice President - Digital of the Company. Prior to 2011, Symson ran operations, content and revenue for the TV division's interactive businesses. He also spent a year as director of content and marketing for the Scripps Interactive media division, which was spun off into Scripps Networks Interactive in 2008. He has served as director of investigations and special projects and director of news strategy and operations for the Scripps corporate television group. He joined Scripps as executive producer of investigations and special projects for Scripps affiliate KNXV in Phoenixin 2002. He also has worked for CBS stations WBBM in Chicago and KCBS in Los Angeles and as an independent producer for CBS News and NBC News. Symson has a bachelor's in communication from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Lisa Knutson

Ms. Lisa Ann Knutson is Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of the Company. She joined Scripps in 2005 and held a variety of roles before taking over the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to 2017, Ms. Knutson served as Senior Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer of human resources, where she managed company-wide functions including human resources, information technology, outsourcing governance, project management, corporate communications and The Scripps National Spelling Bee. She also served as the Senior Vice President of human resources where she focused on strategic oversight of all aspects of human resources, including organizational design, performance and succession management, learning and development, compensation, benefits, employee relations, human resources operations and change management. Prior to coming to Scripps in 2005, she had worked most of her career at Fifth Third Bank and at Arthur Anderson, where she developed and oversaw an operating and sales budget for a $105 million multi-office practice and human resources and staffing across nine locations. Ms. Knutson is a Certified Public Accountant and has a bachelor's degree in accountancy from Miami University.

Brian Lawlor

Mr. Brian G. Lawlor serves as President - Local Media of The E.W. Scripps Company. Lawlor runs the company's television and radio divisions. Since 2009, he has overseen the rapid growth of Scripps'broadcasting assets from 10 TV stations in 2009 to 33 TV stations and 34 radio stations today. In 2012, Broadcasting and Cable Magazine named him "Television Broadcaster of the Year" and one of the "80 Most Influential People in Television." He has been the driving force in the successful launch of Scrippsnational programming. He serves as chairman of the ABC Board of Governors. He is the former television board chairman for the National Association of Broadcasters and the former president and chairman of the NBC Affiliates Board. He holds a bachelor's degree from King's College and an MBA from the University of Miami, Florida.

William Appleton

Mr. William Appleton is Executive Vice President, General Counsel of The E.W. Scripps Company. Appleton joined Scripps in May 2008, and since then has led the legal team in many acquisitions and other transactions, including the spin-off and merger of the Scripps newspaper business with the newspaper business of Journal Communications and the subsequent acquisition by merger of the Journal Communications broadcast television and radio businesses. He graduated from New York University Law School and began his career in 1978 with the law firm Baker Hostetler LLP. He opened the firm's Cincinnati office in 1997, and served as the partner-in-charge from January 2002 to May 2008.

Laura Tomlin

Ms. Laura Tomlin serves as Senior Vice President - National Media of the Company. As vice president of digital business operations, Tomlin has been responsible for executing the strategic digital agenda forScripps'local brands in partnership with the television division. Her responsibilities have included working with leaders in all divisions to ensure success and consistency across the digital platforms. In addition to these responsibilities, she led the strategic direction for Cracked and has worked closely with the leaders of Newsy since its acquisition. She has served on the digital division's senior leadership team since its inception, creating the human resources function for the division and then moving into a leadership role in operations. Tomlin joined Scrippsin 2010 to launch internal recruiting to support the enterprise. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Joseph Quin
