Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, Inc., incorporated on February 7, 2005, is a non-original equipment manufacturer (OEM), aircraft parts designer and manufacturer of commercial aero-structures. The Company is also a supplier of aero-structures. The Company operates through three segments: Fuselage Systems, Propulsion Systems and Wing Systems. The Company's maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services include repair stations that provide on-site repair and overhaul, and maintain global partnerships to support MRO services for B737, B747, B767, B777, B787 and Rolls-Royce BR725. It maintains a pool of rotable assets for sale, exchange and/or lease for B737, B747, B767 and B777. It also offers engineering, tooling and measurement services. The Company offers low observables, which are radar absorbent and translucent materials; rotorcraft, including forward cockpit and cabin, and fuselage, and other military products for fabrication, bonding, assembly, testing, tooling, processing, engineering analysis and training.
The Company's Fuselage Systems segment includes the development, production and marketing of forward, mid and rear fuselage sections and systems, primarily to aircraft OEMs, as well as related spares and MRO. The Fuselage Systems segment manufactures products at its facilities in Wichita, Kansas; Kinston, North Carolina, and Saint-Nazaire, France. Its forward fuselage includes a forward section of fuselage, which houses flight deck, passenger cabin and cargo area, used in aircraft platforms, such as B737, B747, B767, B777 and B787. Its other fuselage sections include the mid-section and other sections of the fuselage and certain other structural components, including floor beams, used in aircraft platforms, such as B737, B747, B777 and A350 XWB.
The Propulsion Systems segment includes the development, production and marketing of struts/pylons, nacelles (including thrust reversers) and related engine structural components, primarily to aircraft or engine OEMs, as well as related spares and MRO services. The Propulsion Systems segment manufactures products at its facilities located in Wichita and Chanute, Kansas. Its nacelles (including thrust reversers) includes aerodynamic structure surrounding engines, and serves B737, B747, B767, B777 and Rolls-Royce BR725 Engine. Its struts/pylons include a structure that connects engine to the wing in various aircraft platforms, including B737, B747, B767, B777, B787, Mitsubishi Regional Jet and Bombardier CSeries.
The Wing Systems segment includes the development, production and marketing of wings and wing components (including flight control surfaces), and other miscellaneous structural parts, primarily to aircraft OEMs, as well as related spares and MRO services. These activities take place at the Company's facilities in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma; Kinston, North Carolina; Prestwick, Scotland, and Subang, Malaysia. The Company's flight control surfaces include flaps and slats in B737 and B777 aircraft platforms. Its wing structures include wing framework, which consists of spars, ribs, fixed leading edge, stringers, trailing edges and flap track beams, in B737, B747, B767, B777, B787, A320 family, A330, A350 XWB and A380 aircraft platforms.
