The Company's global product offering includes consumable maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies, pipe, valves, fittings, flanges, gaskets, fasteners, electrical, instrumentation, artificial lift solutions, power transmission, production process equipment, pumps, paint and coatings, mill tools, safety supplies and spare parts to support customers' operations. It provides value within the energy market, particularly in focused areas of artificial lift, pumping solutions, modular process, measurement and control equipment and valve actuation. It also offers warehouse and inventory management solutions as part of a supply chain and materials management offering. The Company's solutions include outsourcing the functions of procurement, inventory and warehouse management, logistics, point of issue technology, project management, business process and performance metrics reporting.
NOW supports land and offshore operations for all the oil and gas producing regions around the world through its network of energy branch locations. Its markets beyond North America include Latin America, the North Sea, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Former Soviet Union (FSU). Products sold through its locations support greenfield and expansion upstream capital projects, midstream infrastructure and transmission, and MRO and manufacturing consumables used in day-to-day production. It provides downstream energy and industrial products for petroleum refining, chemical processing, liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, power generation, utilities and industrial manufacturing operations and customer on-site locations. As of December 31, 2016, the Company stocked or sold over 300,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) through its branch network.
The United States segment comprises United States Energy, United States Supply Chain and United States Process Solutions. As of December 31, 2016, the Company had over 200 locations in the United States, which were geographically positioned to serve the upstream, midstream and downstream energy and industrial markets. The Company offers solutions in product lines in the United States, including artificial lift, pumps, valves and valve actuation, process equipment, fluid transfer products, and measurement and controls. It also provides additional value to its customers through the design, assembly, fabrication and optimization of products and equipment essential for the production, transportation and processing of oil and gas and industrial manufacturing.
As of December 31, 2016, the Company had a network of over 55 locations in the Canadian oilfield, primarily in the oil rich provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan in Western Canada. The Company's Canadian segment primarily serves the energy exploration, production, mining and drilling business. In Canada, it also provides training for, and supervises the installation of jointed and spoolable composite pipe.
As of December 31, 2016, the Company operated in approximately 20 countries and served the needs of its international customers from over 35 locations outside of the United States and Canada, all of which were located in oil and gas development areas. The Company's International segment primarily serves the energy exploration, production and drilling business. Its International countries include Australia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, China, Colombia, England, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
