P. H. Glatfelter Company, incorporated on December 16, 1905, is a manufacturer of specialty papers and fiber-based engineered materials. The Company operates through three business units: Composite Fibers, Advanced Airlaid Materials and Specialty Papers. Its Composite Fibers business unit is engaged in the sale of single-serve tea and coffee filtration papers, non-woven wallcovering materials, metallized papers, composite laminates papers, and various technically special papers, including substrates for electrical applications. Its Advanced Airlaid Materials is engaged in the sale of airlaid non-woven fabric-like materials used in feminine hygiene and adult incontinence products, wipes and other airlaid applications. Its Specialty Papers business unit is engaged in the sale of papers for carbonless and other forms, envelopes, book publishing and engineered products, such as papers for high-speed ink jet printing, office specialty products, greeting cards, packaging, casting, release, transfer, playing card, postal, and other specialty applications. The Company owns and operates manufacturing facilities located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and the Philippines.

Composite Fibers

The Company's Composite Fibers business unit serves customers across the globe and focuses on value-added products in various markets, such as food and beverage, which includes filtration paper primarily used for single-serve coffee and tea products; wallcovering, including base materials used by wallpaper manufacturers; metallized, which includes products used in the labels, packaging liners, gift wrap and other consumer product applications; composite laminates, which includes paper used in production of decorative laminates, furniture and flooring applications, and technical specialties, which includes a diverse line of special paper products used in electrical energy storage, transport and transmission, wipes, other home and hygiene products, and other fiber-based applications. The Composite Fibers business unit consists of four paper making facilities (Germany, France and England), a non-woven wall cover base mill (Germany), metallizing operations (Wales and Germany) and a pulp mill (the Philippines).

Advanced Airlaid Materials

The Company's Advanced Airlaid Materials business unit is a global supplier of absorbent cellulose-based airlaid non-woven materials primarily used to manufacture consumer products for global end user markets. Its products include feminine hygiene, specialty wipes, adult incontinence, home care and other consumer products. Advanced Airlaid Materials serves various customers, including consumer product companies, as well as private-label converters for feminine hygiene, adult incontinence and specialty wipes products. The Advanced Airlaid Materials business unit operates facilities in Falkenhagen, Germany and Gatineau, Canada. As of December 31, 2016, the Falkenhagen location operated three multi-bonded production lines and three single-lane festooners. As of December 31, 2016, the Gatineau location consisted of two airlaid production lines employing multi-bonded and thermal-bonded airlaid technologies, and two single-lane festooners.

Specialty Papers

The Company's North America-based Specialty Papers business unit focuses on producing papers for various markets, such as carbonless and non-carbonless forms papers, engineered products, envelope and converting, and book publishing markets. The Company offers papers for credit card receipts, multi-part forms, security papers and other end user applications in the carbonless and non-carbonless forms market. It offers engineered products for high speed ink jet printing, office specialty products, greeting cards, and other specialty applications. It offers papers primarily utilized for transactional and direct mail envelopes in the envelope and converting market. It also offers papers for the production of high-quality hardbound books and other book publishing needs.
