Fine Ceramic Parts Group
The Company's Fine Ceramic Parts Group segment's products include components for semiconductor processing equipment and flat panel display manufacturing equipment, information and telecommunication components, general industrial machinery components, sapphire substrates and automotive components. The products in the Fine Ceramic Parts Group segment are used in the industrial machinery, information and communications equipment, automotive and various other industrial sectors. These products are made from a range of ceramic materials, such as alumina, as well as zirconia, utilizing their characteristics of heat and corrosion resistance.
Semiconductor Parts Group
The Company develops, manufactures and sells both inorganic (ceramic) and organic packages and multilayer printed wiring boards for various electronic components and devices, such as crystal components, surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor/charge-coupled devices (CMOS/CCD) sensors, and for communication infrastructures and computers. Its products include ceramic packages, organic multilayer substrates and multilayer printed wiring boards.
Applied Ceramic Products Group
The Company's Applied Ceramic Products Group segment consists of four product lines through applying fine ceramic technologies: Solar Energy Products, Cutting Tools, Medical and Dental Implants, and Jewelry and Applied Ceramic Related Products. The Company develops, manufactures and sells monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon solar modules and solar generating system for commercial and residential uses, cutting tools used in metal processing in industrial manufacturing, medical and dental implant products, including prosthetic joints and dental prosthetics, and recrystallized jewelry and applied ceramic related products, such as kitchen accessories.
Electronic Device Group
The Company develops, manufactures and sells electronic components and devices, such as capacitors, SAW devices, connectors and crystal components for information and communications markets. It offers liquid crystal displays for automotive and industrial machinery markets. It also offers printing devices and power semiconductor products (discrete products and power modules).
Telecommunications Equipment Group
The Company develops, manufactures and sells smartphones and mobile phones for telecommunications carriers in Japan and the United States. The Company also develops the business, such as Machine-to-Machine (M2M) modules for automotive market. It also offers personal handyphone system (PHS) related products.
Information Equipment Group
The Information Equipment Group segment develops, manufactures and sells page printers and multifunctional products by using amorphous silicon photoreceptor drums developed by the Company. The Company also provides document solutions. Its products include monochrome and color printers, and multifunctional products, wide format systems, application software and supplies.
The Company's Others segment provides the information and communications service, and develops, manufactures and sells materials for semiconductors and chemical materials. Its products and services include information systems and telecommunication services, engineering business, management consulting business, materials for semiconductors, chemical materials and realty development business.
