MGM Resorts International, incorporated on January 29, 1986, is a holding company. The Company, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates casino resorts. The Company operates in two segments: domestic resorts and MGM China. Its domestic resorts segment consists of non-gaming operations, including hotel, food and beverage, entertainment and other non-gaming amenities. Its MGM China’s operations consist of the MGM Macau resort and casino (MGM Macau), and the development of an integrated casino, hotel and entertainment resort on the Cotai Strip in Macau (MGM Cotai). Under its resort operation, the Company's casino resorts offer gaming, hotel, convention, dining, entertainment, retail and other resort amenities. It makes investments in its resorts through remodeled hotel rooms, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife offerings, as well as other features and amenities. Its subsidiaries include Blue Tarp reDevelopment, LLC, Mandalay Resort Group and MGM CC, LLC.
The Company owned Shadow Creek, a golf course located approximately 10 miles north of its Las Vegas Strip resorts, Primm Valley Golf Club at the California/Nevada state line and Fallen Oak golf course in Saucier, Mississippi, as of December 31, 2016. It owns and manages CityCenter Holdings, LLC, located between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. CityCenter consists of Aria, an integrated casino, hotel and entertainment resort; Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, a non-gaming boutique hotel; Crystals, a retail, dining and entertainment district, and Vdara, a luxury condominium-hotel. In addition, CityCenter features residential units in the Residences at Mandarin Oriental and Veer. The Company also owns Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (Borgata).
The Company's casino operations feature a range of slots, table games, and race and sports book wagering. In addition, it offers its players access to high-limit rooms and lounge experiences. Its customers include gaming customers, leisure and wholesale travel customers, business travelers and group customers. Its Group customers include conventions, trade associations and small meetings. The Company's domestic resorts consist of casino resorts in Las Vegas, Nevada, which include Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas (including The Signature), Mandalay Bay (including Delano and Four Seasons), The Mirage, Luxor, New York-New York, Excalibur, Monte Carlo and Circus Circus Las Vegas. It also operates other casinos, which include MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit, Michigan; Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Gold Strike Tunica in Tunica, Mississippi.
The Company owns a controlling interest in MGM China, which owns MGM Grand Paradise, S.A. (MGM Grand Paradise), the Macau company that owns and operates the MGM Macau resort and casino and the related gaming subconcession and land concessions. The Company's three primary customer segments in the Macau gaming market are very important person (VIP) casino gaming operations, main floor gaming operations and slot machine operations.
