Personal and Commercial Banking
Personal and Commercial Banking consists of the Company's personal and business banking operations, as well as its auto financing and retail investment businesses, including its online discount brokerage channel. It operates in Canada, the Caribbean and the United States. The Personal and Commercial Banking serves various lines of business, which include Personal Financial Services, Business Financial Services, Cards and Payment Solutions, and Caribbean and United States Banking. Personal Financial Services provides a range of financing and investment products and services, including home equity financing, personal lending, deposit accounts, Canadian private banking, indirect lending (including auto financing), mutual funds and self-directed brokerage accounts, and Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs). Business Financial Services offers a range of lending, leasing, deposit, investment, foreign exchange, cash management, auto dealer financing (floor plan), trade products and services to small, medium-sized commercial businesses, as well as agriculture and agribusiness clients across Canada. Cards and Payment Solutions (Canadian Banking) provides an array of credit cards with loyalty and reward benefits, and payment products and solutions within Canada. Caribbean and United States Banking offers banking products and services, as well as international financing and trade promotion services through branch, automated teller machine (ATM), online and mobile banking networks. In the United States, it serves the cross-border banking needs of Canadian clients within the United States through online channels.
Wealth Management serves high net worth (HNW), and ultra-high net worth clients from its offices in financial centers in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, and Asia with a suite of investment, trust, banking, credit and other wealth management solutions. The Wealth Management segment serves various lines of business, which include Canadian Wealth Management, U.S. & International Wealth Management, and Global Asset Management. Canadian Wealth Management includes its full-service Canadian wealth advisory business. U.S. Wealth Management includes its private client group. The Company's correspondent and advisor services businesses deliver clearing and execution services for small to mid-sized independent broker-dealers and registered investment advisor firms. International Wealth Management includes Wealth Management - International and Wealth Management - Asia. It provides customized and integrated trust, banking, credit and investment solutions to HNW and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients and corporate clients.
Global Asset Management
Global Asset Management provides global investment management services and solutions for individual and institutional investors through mutual, pooled and private funds, fee-based accounts and separately managed portfolios. Its asset management group and Global Asset Management include BlueBay Asset Management (BlueBay), which offers investment management services, providing investment strategies and fund solutions directly to institutional investors and also to individual clients through its distribution channels and third-party distributors.
Insurance provides a range of life, health, home, auto, travel, wealth, group and reinsurance products and solutions. In Canada, it offers insurance products and services through its distribution channels, which consist of the field sales force, which includes retail insurance branches, its field sales representatives, advice centers and online, as well as through independent insurance advisors and affinity relationships. Outside Canada, it operates in reinsurance markets globally offering life, accident and annuity reinsurance products. The Insurance serves various lines of business, which include Canadian Insurance, which offers a range of property and casualty products including home, auto and travel insurance, its life and health portfolio includes universal life, term life, critical illness, disability, long-term care insurance and group benefits, and International Insurance, which consists of reinsurance businesses, which offers life and health, accident and annuity reinsurance products.
Investor and Treasury Services
Investor & Treasury Services is a provider of asset and treasury services, custody, payments, and transaction banking for financial institutions and other institutional investors across the world. It delivers custodial, fund accounting, financing and other services to safeguard client assets, maximize liquidity and manage risk across multiple jurisdictions. It also provides short-term funding and liquidity management for RBC.
Capital Markets provides public and private companies, institutional investors, governments and central banks with a range of products and services. In North America, it offers a suite of products and services, which include corporate and investment banking, equity and debt origination and distribution, and structuring and trading. Outside North America, it offers a diversified set of capabilities in sectors, such as energy, mining and infrastructure. It also offers its products and services to industrial, consumer and healthcare sectors in Europe. The Capital Markets serves various lines of business, which include Corporate and Investment Banking, which consists of corporate lending, loan syndications, debt and equity origination, merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory services, private equity, research, client securitization and the global credit businesses; Global Markets, which consists of fixed income, foreign exchange, equity sales and trading, repos and secured financing, and commodities businesses, and Other includes legacy portfolio, which consists of its bank-owned life insurance (BOLI) stable value products, the United States commercial mortgage-backed securities, the United States auction rate securities (ARS), structured rates in Asia, and certain trading strategies.
