Synnex Corporation, incorporated on September 4, 2003, is a business process services company. The Company provides a range of distribution, logistics and integration services for the technology industry and providing outsourced services focused on customer engagement strategy. The Company operates in two segments: Technology Solutions and Concentrix. The Company's Technology Solutions segment distributes peripherals, information technology (IT) systems, including data center server and storage solutions, system components, software, networking/communications/security equipment, and consumer electronics (CE) and complementary products. Within its Technology Solutions segment, the Company also provides systems design and integration solutions. The Company's Concentrix segment offers a portfolio of solutions and end-to-end business services focused on customer engagement strategy, process optimization, technology innovation, front and back-office automation and business transformation.
As of November 30, 2016, the Technology Solutions segment distributed over 30,000 technology products (as measured by active stock keeping units (SKUs)) from over 300 IT, CE and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) suppliers to over 20,000 resellers, system integrators, and retailers throughout the United States, Canada and Japan. The Company purchases peripherals, IT systems, system components, software, networking/communications/security equipment, CE and products from the suppliers and sells them to its reseller and retail customers. The Company's reseller customers include value-added resellers (VARs), corporate resellers, government resellers, system integrators, direct marketers, and national and regional retailers. The Company also provides IT solutions in vertical markets, such as government and healthcare, and provides specialized service offerings that increase efficiencies in the areas of print management, renewals, networking, logistics services and supply chain management. In addition to this, it also provides the customers with systems design and integration solutions for data center servers and networking solutions built specific to the customers' workloads and data center environments.
The Company has pick, pack and ship operations, which allow it to receive shipments from the OEM suppliers and fill orders for its reseller and retail customers. The Company services are complemented through the usage of Systems Design and Integration Solutions, Logistics Services, Online Services, Financing Services and Marketing Services. It provides customers with systems design and full rack integration solutions, build-to-order and configure-to-order assembly capabilities. In both of these cases, it offers design, integration, test and other production value-added solutions, such as thermal testing, power-draw efficiency testing, burn-in, quality and logistics support. The Company provides logistics support to its reseller customers, such as outsourced fulfillment, virtual distribution and direct ship to end users. Other logistics support activities it provides include generation of customized shipping documents, multi-level serial number tracking for customized, configured products and online order and shipment tracking. It also offers full turnkey logistics solutions designed to address the needs of large volume or specialty logistics services. Its full turnkey service offering is designed to cover all aspects of the logistics life cycle, including transportation management, inventory optimization, complementary product matching, reverse logistics, asset refurbishment, and disposal and strategic procurement. It maintains electronic data interchange (EDI), extensible markup language (XML), Web-based communication links and mobile applications with many of its reseller and retail customers. It also has Web-based application software that allows its customers or their end user customers to order software and take delivery online. It offers its reseller customers a range of financing options, including net terms, third party leasing, floor plan financing and letters-of-credit backed financing and arrangements where it collects payments directly from the end user. It offers its OEM suppliers a range of marketing activities targeting resellers, system integrators and retailers, including direct mail, external media advertising, reseller product training, targeted telemarketing campaigns, national and regional trade shows, trade groups, database analysis, print on demand services and Web-based marketing.
The Concentrix segment provides a range of strategic services and solutions to enhance the clients' customer life cycles to acquire, support and renew customer relationships, to automate and optimize processes and to improve business outcomes. The Concentrix segment portfolio also includes technology assets and embedded analytics. As of November 30, 2016, the Company operated over 120 delivery centers and administrative facilities in numerous countries throughout North and South America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. As of November 30, 2016, it provided services from these global locations to customers around the world in over 40 languages. As of November 30, 2016, the Concentrix segment served clients in 10 industry verticals: automotive, banking and financial services, consumer electronics, energy and public sector, healthcare, insurance, media and communications, retail and electronic-commerce, technology, and travel, transportation, and tourism.
