Volkswagen AG is an automobile manufacturer and a carmaker in Europe. The Company develops vehicles and components for its brands. The Company also produces and sells vehicles, in particular passenger cars and light commercial vehicles for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands. The Company's segments include Passenger Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Power Engineering and Financial Services. The activities of the Passenger Cars segment cover the development of vehicles and engines, the production and sale of passenger cars, and the corresponding genuine parts business. The Commercial Vehicles segment comprises the development, production and sale of light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, the corresponding genuine parts business and related services. The activities of the Power Engineering segment consist of the development and production of large-bore diesel engines, turbo compressors, industrial turbines and chemical reactor systems, as well as the production of gear units, propulsion components and testing systems. The activities of the Financial Services segment comprise dealer and customer financing, leasing, banking and insurance activities, fleet management and mobility services.
The Company holds indirect or direct interests in AUDI AG, SEAT S.A., SKODA AUTO a.s., Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Scania AB, MAN SE, Volkswagen Financial Services AG and other companies in Germany and abroad. The Company's brands include Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, SKODA, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN. The Volkswagen brands include up!, Polo, Golf, Golf Sportsvan, Jetta, Passat, Volkswagen CC, Golf Estate, Passat Estate, Golf Cabriolet, Beetle, Beetle Cabriolet, Scirocco, Tiguan, Touareg and Caddy. Audi brands include Audi, Lamborghini and Ducati motorcycles. The SEAT models include Mii, Ibiza 5D, Ibiza SC, Ibiza ST, Ibiza CUPRA, Toledo, Leon 5D, Leon SC, Leon ST, Leon X-PERIENCE, Leon CUPRA, Ateca and Alhambra. The Company has two divisions, which include the automotive division and the Financial Services division. The Automotive division consists of both the Passenger Cars business area and the Commercial Vehicles/Power Engineering business area. The Commercial Vehicles/Power Engineering business area consists of the Commercial Vehicles and the Power Engineering segments. The activities of the Automotive division consists of the development of vehicles and engines, the production and sale of passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and motorcycles, as well as the genuine parts, large-bore diesel engines, turbo machinery, special gear units, propulsion components and testing systems businesses. The Ducati brand is allocated to the Audi brand and is thus presented in the Passenger Cars business area. The Financial Services division, which corresponds to the Financial Services segment, combines dealer and customer financing, leasing, banking and insurance activities, fleet management and mobility offerings.
