Ammann, Daniel 

Mr. Daniel Ammann is Chief Executive Officer - GM Cruise Holdings LLC. GM’s subsidiary dedicated to building, growing and investing in its autonomous vehicle business effective January 1, 2019. Mr. Ammann was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (2013).He is responsible for managing the company’s business operations around the world, the global Chevrolet and Cadillac brand organizations, global product planning, new business development and GM Financial. Ammann was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer for nearly 3 years where he led the transformation of GM’s finance operations. He also led the strategy to rebuild the company’s captive finance capability through the successful establishment and growth of GM Financial. Ammann joined GM in April 2010 as vice president of finance and treasurer, where his first assignment was to manage GM’s initial public offering. In addition, he has been chairman of the board of Shanghai General Motors, GM's largest Chinese joint venture, since February 2014. Ammann is a member of the board of directors of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He is also a certified industry pool test driver at the Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in Germany. Before joining GM, Ammann was managing director and head of Industrial Investment Banking for Morgan Stanley, where he was instrumental in many high-profile assignments including advising GM during its 2009 restructuring. A native of New Zealand, Ammann holds a bachelor of management studies (First Class Honours) from the University of Waikato in New Zealand.
