Doctors bear full responsibility for the lives of the people entrusted to their care. It is their daily duty to improve or save the lives of their patients. Of course, state-of-the-art technology helps doctors and surgeons all over the world to do this even better, more precisely and more cleanly, to achieve the best possible result for the patient's benefit. Erbe is not just a manufacturer of high-performance medical instruments, but a family-owned business based in Tübingen, Germany that goes beyond production. Through its educational activities, Erbe imparts valuable knowledge not only in its local community but also in regions of the world that can benefit from advanced medical technology and expertise. Erbe's commitment to sharing its know-how serves as a testament to its dedication to improving healthcare globally.

Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH was founded more than 170 years ago in Tübingen, known as one of the oldest university towns in Germany. Back then, trend-setting new designs for medical needs were developed in a small mechanic's workshop. Over time, Erbe's collaborations with university medical institutes in the city have proven to be an excellent foundation for continuous development.

Even today, a – now worldwide – network of doctors and scientific users is of decisive advantage when it comes to continuously improving both the technology and the associated training. Thanks to the immense experience and accumulated knowledge – and not least because of the patents protecting those – Erbe's instruments for surgery, pneumology, gastroenterology, gynecology, and urology are state-of-the-art and in demand all over the world. The company can consider itself the inventor of surgical hybrid technology: Here, hydrosurgery and electrosurgery are combined in one instrument; this simply means that, for example, a water jet and an electrical impulse can be used in the patient's body for treatment in quick succession – without having to change the instrument. There is no denying that this increases efficiency and reduces complications.

This partially groundbreaking portfolio is rounded off by  technical and financial services. And, of course, the aforementioned workshops and training courses. Erbe´s commitment to education is called Erbe Academy, and always attended by renowned experts, are offered online or in person: Erbe present events throughout Europe, ranging from the UK to Greece. They educate attendees on the latest research and advancements in Erbe technologies. Their significant knowledge transfer initiatives have expanded beyond borders and now include Singapore and Lebanon: "The commitment of Erbe is of high importance because they are bringing international expertise to our society, to our doctors," says Father Talal Hachem, President of the Holy Spirit University in Kaslik, Lebanon. Whereas doctors used to have to travel to Europe or beyond, they now get the necessary knowledge locally. This makes many things easier – and in the end, also benefits the patients.
