It's the day of prayer in Egypt - but angry protesters here in Cairo promised to transform it into a "Friday of Wrath". Riot police fired rubber bullets at demonstrators as they demanded the end of President Hosni Mubarak's 30 year rule. In some areas of the city police used tear gas and water canon to disperse crowds. Protesters shouted Down Down Hosni Mubarak as they vented their anger. Vodafone group said all mobile operators in Eqypt had been instructed to suspend services in certain areas. Activists believe it was to prevent them communicating and organising protest action. The internet was also blocked - protesters believe for the same reason. Across the whole of Egypt tens of thousands of people took part in protests as part of a wave of unrest gripping the region.
