ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Red-hot explosions of lava spew from Europe's only volcano, Mount Etna, on Thursday, lighting up the dark sky with an impressive red glow. As daylight broke, a snow-covered Mount Etna was seen with a heavy ash cloud hanging overhead. Nearby Catania airport was closed later in the day as the heavy ash cloud blocked visibility. Several eruptions have already taken place this year but geologists say there is no risk to the local population.
