ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION A car carrying former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn leaves the Palais de Justice in the French city of Lille after he was questioned by a panel of judges over his alleged involvement in a prostitution case. He has not been charged but is under formal investigation over allegations that a prostitution ring organised by Strauss-Kahn's business associates supplies clients at the city's Carlton Hotel. Strauss-Kahn denies the allegations. He says he was unaware that women he met at parties organised by business associates in Lille, Paris and Washington were prostitutes. The use of prostitutes is not in itself illegal in France, but the investigation will focus on whether he was aware the women at the parties were prostitutes supplied by pimps. Strauss-Kahn went from being a highly respected politician to being hounded in the world's media after a New York hotel maid accused him of trying to rape her last May. The charges were dropped after prosecutors decided the maid's testimony was unreliable, but she is now bringing a civil lawsuit against him. On Wednesday (March 28) his lawyers will argue before a court in the Bronx that Strauss-Kahn's position as former IMF chief gives him diplomatic immunity from the action.
