He has traveled around the world and beyond since 1929 - but now adventurous Tintin and his friends are ready to settle down for the right price. Artcurial Auction House in Paris is offering fans the chance to pick up first edition albums, original sketches and toys themed around the whole gang of characters created by Belgian cartoonist Herge. And according to Artcurial's Eric Leroy the sale is a unique opportunity for collectors. SOUNDBITE: Artcurial Comic Expert Eric Leroy, saying (French) "In the forties, you had colors that were very warm and deep, a thick paper, which is incomparable with colors today which I'd say are a bit digitalized. As a result, when you take a first edition of 'The Shooting Star', there's no comparison with today's albums sold in shops." But, cartoon buffs have to dig deep as this sketch from 'Tintin in Tibet' is expected to fetch up to 160,000 euros. Another centerpiece is this 1954 first edition comic of 'Explorers on the Moon' signed by a range of U.S. astronauts including Buzz Aldrin. The memorabilia are scheduled to change hands on June 7th and 8th.
