(Arabic) JUDGE, MAHMOUD KAMEL AL-RASHIDI "The court has ruled that he is innocent." Supporters rejoice as former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is cleared of criminal charges over the killing of 239 protesters in the 2011 revolt. The now-frail 86-year-old was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 for conspiring to murder the demonstrators, sowing chaos and creating a security vacuum during the 18-day revolt. But during this retrial, the judge says criminal charges should never have been brought against Mubarak in the case. Outside the court, passionate reactions came from both supporters and opponents. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MUBARAK SUPPORTER, NAEMA MOHAMED, SAYING: "No one could remove you. The Egyptian people all love you; from the youngest to the eldest; from the illiterate to the educated. We adore you. Of course we agree." The retrial also saw charges cleared for Mubarak's interior minister and six security aides. But Mubarak himself will not walk free... he is still serving a three-year sentence in a separate embezzlement case.
