"The Grand Budapest Hotel" tops BAFTA nominations list

Director Wes Anderson's comedy film ''The Grand Budapest Hotel'' leads the pack at the BAFTAS with 11 nominations followed by ''Birdman'' and ''Theory of Everything'' taking ten each. Bob Mezan reports.

The nominations for Britain's BAFTA awards - the UK's equivalent to the Oscars - have been announced and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" topped the shortlist with 11 nominations, including one for best film. The offbeat comedy stars Ralph Fiennes as the concierge of a luxury hotel. Fiennes picked up a best actor nod and Wes Anderson was nominated for best director. "Birdman" earned 10 nominations including best film and one each for its three central actors, Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, and Emma Stone. The film tied for nods with "The Theory of Everything," which also earned a best picture nod and honors for actor Eddie Redmayne. And "The Imitation Game" earned nine nominations - including best picture and best acting nods for Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. The winners will be unveiled by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts on February 8.
