Linklater earns first Directors Guild nomination for 'Boyhood'

''Boyhood'' director and Golden Globe winner Richard Linklater receives his first nomination for the top Directors Guild Award. Bob Mezan reports.

The Directors Guild of America has released its nominees for its annual award, and "Boyhood's" Richard Linklater earned a nod. Linklater just picked up a Golden Globe for best directing. He'll compete against "The Grand Budapest Hotel's" Wes Anderson, whose film just earned a Golden Globe for best comedy film. Rounding out the top five directors are "American Sniper's" Clint Eastwood, "Birdman's" Alejandro Inarritu, and "The Imitation Game's" Morten Tyldum. The DGA will hand out the award on February 07; the Oscars will be presented on February 22.
