A rare collection of photographs of film icon Marilyn Monroe has been unveiled at a press preview in Poland. The collection of pictures, which are owned by the Polish State Archives, were taken by Milton H. Greene, who was firm friends with the star throughout her career. The curator of the exhibition, Marek Stenielewicz, believes that the collection of more than 50 portraits shows a different side to the Hollywood actress. SOUNDBITE Exhibition curator, Marek Stanielewicz, saying (Polish): "I think that a person walking through the exhibition should be able to see a different Marilyn Monroe on every photograph, because these are photographs of an actress and movie star but also a private person. Some photographs were posed but some are Marilyn Monroe in intimate situations. The key thing was to show Marilyn Monroe not only as a great actress and sex symbol but Marilyn Monroe as a human and a girl." The pictures will go on display to the public in Wroclaw from July.
