'Jurassic World' Rumbles to Record Setting $204.6 Million Opening

Dinosaurs rule the earth again this weekend after Universal Pictures' ''Jurassic World'' debuts to a dominant $204.6 million at the domestic box office. Joel Flynn reports.

It's proving to be box office dino-mite. Jurassic World roaring it's way to a record setting 205 million dollar opening weekend in the U.S.. The Steven Spielberg-produced blockbuster shows every sign of entertaining fans across the world as well as the Universal Pictures movie shattered several records - scoring the third biggest opening day ever. It's 512 million dollar global box office taking is also the highest global bow in history, according to boxofficemojo.com 20th Century Fox's "Spy", starring Melissa McCarthy, slipped to second after dropping its takings by 50 percent to 16 million dollars. Meanwhile Warner Bros.' disaster flick "San Andreas" came in third over the weekend, racking up 11 million dollars to drive its domestic total to 119 million. Focus Feature's horror "Insidious Chapter 3" finished fourth, while "Pitch Perfect 2" rounded out the top five.
