ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Hollywood actress and humanitarian envoy Angelina Jolie met with members of a group promoting women's rights and participants of a voter education program ahead of the upcoming elections in Myanmar on Friday (July 31). Jolie, who arrived on Wednesday (July 29), is on a four-day visit to Myanmar as Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The group are participants in the 'She Leads' voter education program who have been working on a project aimed at promoting women's rights and their roles in the November 8 elections, according to the UK Embassy Facebook page. The UK Embassy said Jolie's visit to the country followed a personal invitation from opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi. The two have been in touch since the end of a global summit to end sexual violence in 2014, said the embassy statement. The next day (August 1), she travelled with Suu Kyi to a township on the outskirts of Yangon to meet and talk with a group of women workers. Jolie and Suu Kyi visited a small hostel in Hlaingthaya Township to meet a group of female factory workers in the western part of one of the country's biggest cities to find out about their living and working conditions. Her trip to Myanmar came after her visit to Cambodia where she was visiting health, education and conservation projects funded by the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, named after her eldest son who she adopted from the southeastern Asian country.
