ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) When Marty McFly went to 2015 in 'Back to the Future II' in 1989, teenagers were using hoverboards - skateboards that floated just above the ground. Now, Lexus may have made fiction into reality. The company has revealed a short film titled 'Slide' which appears to show their very own hoverboard being used by skaters in a specially made park in Barcelona. According to the press release from Lexus, the board has been in development for the past 18 months in Germany and utilises magnetic levitation technology. The park also is part of the technology with 200 metres of magnetic track laid down beneath the surface. Also used in the technology is liquid nitrogen used to keep the superconducting material at -197°C. This is what creates the steam around the hoverboard.
