Aug. 10 - Madame Tussauds San Francisco unveils wax figure of Grammy award winning British singer Sam Smith. John Russell reports.

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith came face-to-face with his wax likeness at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco on Monday (August 10). Smith was immortalized in wax wearing a suit by iconic British design house Alexander McQueen, which he donated to the museum. SOUNDBITE Sam Smith saying (English): "I went to an Alexander McQueen exhibition in London and I just loved the suit. I feel like it was quite an iconic suit and I just love Alexander McQueen and I wanted to represent him wearing it." Smith, a newcomer who won four Grammy awards in February including record and song of the year for his anthem "Stay With Me," spent hours having over 250 measurements taken and exact matches to his eye and hair color found. He said that during the process he lost weight and had to return for adjustments to the figure.
