They're big shoes to fill -- but now Trevor Noah is stepping into Jon Stewart's anchor's chair on the late night comedy "The Daily Show". The South African comedian moved to the U.S. four years ago but isn't yet well known there. That will doubtless change pretty soon. SOUNDBITE: Trevor Noah, "The Daily Show" host, saying (English): "John Stewart has given me lots of advice. He said I should trust my discomfort, that's the main thing he told me. Go for the thing that makes you feel the least comfortable, because there's a reason you're afraid of it, so that's what I'm aiming to do when we do the show." Noah said he plans to take things slowly but there will be changes in style and content. SOUNDBITE: Trevor Noah, "The Daily Show" host, saying (English): "These are all the changes we're looking at: having more music, having more diverse guests and doing, I guess, more things, crazier things that may not have been done before." Outside the studios in New York Monday, fans were lining up to join the audience for the first show. SOUNBITES: "The Daily Show" audience members, saying (English): "It's good to see a person of color, somebody from another country coming here and leading the show in a new direction. I think fresh faces are good." "It's really exciting and really, I don't know the word, iconic. So it's cool, I'm really excited." "Obviously he's a new person, so he's going to bring his own flavor to it. The fact that he's not an American I think is really cool and that's going to spice it up little bit." Noah's guests in his first week include comedian Kevin Hart and musician Ryan Adams.
