A large street mural painted by graffiti artist Banksy sold for $137,500 (USD) at auction in Beverly Hills. The seven by seven foot piece "I Remember When All This Was Trees" bears what are believed to be the elusive artist's finger prints. Banksy painted the mural on a crumbling wall at a defunct auto factory in Detroit - a city struggling to recover from bankruptcy. It's non-profit arts center, 555 Gallery, owned the mural. Money raised through the auction will benefit its community arts programs. Banksy is an assumed name for a British artist who hides his identity. He is known for his often subversive and satirical works.
