This piece of metal, measuring two metres wide and three metres long, has been found off the coast of southern Thailand. It's fuelled speculation that it could be from Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished in March 2014. Villagers found the suspected plane wreckage and reported it to authorities. Judging from the barnacles, fishermen say it couldn't have been under the sea for more than a year. Experts say the strong currents in the Indian Ocean could carry debris far away, but it's unlikely that it could drift to the northern hemisphere. A piece of it washed up on the French island of Reunion last July, but no further trace has been found. Investigators believe someone may have deliberately switched off MH370's transponder before diverting it thousands of miles off course. Some families of passengers on board have said even the discovery of debris wouldn't solve the mystery.
