Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would keep the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay open and ''load it up with some bad dudes.'' Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would keep the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay open and "load it up with some bad dudes." At a campaign rally in Nevada Trump also said he'd like Cuba to pay for it. Earlier, President Barack Obama launched a final push to persuade Congress to close the facility. In White House remarks, Obama, a Democrat, pleaded with the Republican-led Congress to give his proposal a "fair hearing." He said he did not want to pass along the issue to his successor next January. Trump dismissed the plan. "This morning I watched President Obama talk about Gitmo, Guantanamo Bay, which by the way we are keeping open," Trump said. "And we are going to load it up with some bad dudes, believe me," he added. "But here is the thing I didn't understand...we spend forty million dollars a month on maintaining this place," he said. "I would guarantee you that I could do it for a tiny tiny fraction, I mean like maybe five maybe three maybe like peanuts," he said. ""Maybe in our deal with Cuba we get them to take it over and reimburse is," he said. Trump has a commanding a double-digit lead in a handful of Nevada opinion polls, ahead of Tuesday's caucus. A recent CNN/ORC poll put Trump ahead by 26 percentage points in Nevada at 45 percent, followed by Rubio, from Florida, at 19 percent and Cruz, from Texas, at 17 percent.
