ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson took to the stage at his party's convention Tuesday night to admonish delegates not to listen to party members who say they've resigned themselves to seeing Democratic rival Hillary Clinton be elected president. He accused Clinton of having as a role model someone who supports "Lucifer," which is another name for the devil, and he urged them to "take America back." The retired surgeon is a conservative who briefly led opinion polls among Republicans earlier in the campaign, but who dropped out when his support began ebbing. He appeared as Republican leaders were trying to rally disaffected delegates who are unhappy with a Trump campaign. Carson told the delegates that the party must unite to prevent Clinton from winning in November.
