This surprising gesture between two old foes happened during a North Carolina court hearing for John McGraw. He had sucker-punched protester Rakeem Jones at a Donald Trump rally in March. The incident prompted criticism on why swift action was taken against Jones instead of his assailant. But on Wednesday, McGraw apologized for his actions... and said the men were caught up in a - quote - "political mess." (SOUNDBITE) RAKEEM JONES, SAYING: "I just felt good being able to shake his hand and be able to, you know, be able to actually face him." McGraw pleaded "no contest" to misdemeanor charges of assault and battery as well as disorderly conduct. He received a 30-day suspended sentence and 12 months of unsupervised probation.
