Dozens trapped in deadly India mine collapse

At least five workers are reportedly dead and more than 40 are feared trapped after a coal mine collapsed in India's eastern Jharkhand state. Samantha Vadas reports.

A deadly mine collapse in eastern India. Reports on Friday (December 30) saying at least three workers have been killed and more than 40 are thought to be trapped beneath the rubble after a pile of waste caved in at the entrance to the state-run site in Jharkhand on Thursday (December 29). A major rescue operation is now underway - search teams combing the area where trucks lie overturned - some buried deep in the debris. Several workers have been rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries. Family members hurrying to be at their bedside. Authorities say so far there's no clear sign of what caused the disaster.
