ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Intelligence Chief James Clapper says Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has put U.S. lives in direct danger. He made the comments on Thursday during a hearing to the Senate Armed Services Committee. McCain asked Clapper whether he believed Assange had put U.S. lives in direct danger. He said he agreed. Clapper also said he did not think Assange had any credibility. In a tweet on Wednesday, Trump cast doubt on Russia's role in election hacking, writing: "(WikiLeaks founder) Julian Assange said 'a 14 year old could have hacked Podesta' - why was DNC so careless? Also said the Russians did not give him the info!" However, on Thursday, Trump said in another post on Twitter that he was not against intelligence agencies or in agreement with Assange, whose organization leaked Democrats' emails.
