A showdown across the nation… As those who see abortion as murder, and those who view it as a woman's choice, took to the streets over the future of Planned Parenthood. The organization of around 650 health centers provides birth control and other women's health services, in addition to abortion. Those who oppose abortion are urging Congress and President Donald Trump to strip the organization of federal funding. But Planned Parenthood supporters, many of whom met their opponents on the same street, say there will be consequences IF the clinics are stripped of cash. (SOUNDBITE) PLANNED PARENTHOOD SUPPORTER, LISA ROCKWELL, SAYING: "There will be more children in foster care, more children up for adoption, more children given up." On the flip-side, many protesters say it's about saving lives. (SOUNDBITE) ANTI PLANNED PARENTHOOD PROTESTER, NANCY, SAYING: "I do not believe that people have the right to kill other people, innocent people and the most innocent are the children. Even the unborn." Anti-abortion activists have said they are energized to have Trump in office and hope he keeps his promise to restrict abortions. But supporters of Planned Parenthood say Trump's actions could deal a serious blow to women's rights.
