At the Texas state girl's wrestling championship... a transgender boy took the top medal. 17-year-old Mack Beggs, who is transitioning from female to male, stood at the top of the medal stand after beating his female opponents to win the state title. Beggs, a junior at a Dallas area high school, wanted to wrestle against boys, but wasn't allowed because state policy requires students to compete according to the gender listed on their birth certificates. Some opponents argued Beggs has an unfair advantage because the testosterone he is taking as part of his transition makes him too strong to wrestle against girls. The teen's win comes just days after President Trump moved to rescind protections for transgender students in public schools which allowed them to use the bathroom of their choice. A move that prompted protests nationwide from transgender activists and appeals from celebrities like Caitlyn Jenner, who told Trump on social media, the decision is a disaster.
